Today on the Pasadena Subdivision we see the BNSF Pasadena Roadswitcher running west towards Irwindale along the Pasadena Sub. I caught the train many times going west with loads, as well as east with empties, along various places along the line. Today's run of the train included 5 hoppers for the Pabst Brewery in Irwindale, and 10 boxcars for WSI in Pomona.
I started off the chase at Claremont Metrolink Station. The train had to stop at a crossing in Claremont due to a bus breaking a crossing arm earlier, so I quickly got ahead of it to get a second shot within the city. I then moved to Pomona where I got two more shots, once before, and once after the train cut off its boxcars at the Pomona North Metrolink Station. My next two shots were in La Verne and San Dimas respectivley, before I headed to Glendora to shoot the train passing over Route 66 on the bridge. The bridge is 95 years old and was built in 1929.
I then got my second and third shots in Glendora at more crossings, before getting a shot in Azusa with the Azusa Santa Fe Depot as backdrop. I then moved to Irwindale where I saw the train running around its cars in the small yard just to the west of the Irwindale Metro Station.
I then caught the return east at the Azusa Route 66 bridge. The train now carried 4 empty tank cars from the brewery. I then caught the train twice more in Glendora before I called it a day, as the lighting was getting pretty crummy and I didn't want backlit shots. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
