That's awesome to hear. We're up in the UP again this week and we're hoping for another chance to see them while we're up here. Right now it's pretty rainy and cloudy but it's supposed to clear up later in the week. Hoping and praying!!! We watched your latest video last night from our tiny camper but I didn't have a chance to comment, yet. We really enjoy watching your adventures!!!

Thank you. And YES!!! Fortunately we were able to catch up on our sleep after this but I definitely felt my age trying to stay up all night long. It was worth it for an Aurora Chase but it isn't something I do often anymore. Love you, too!

Ha ha ha! Yes, we actually are catching up on sleep right now. We're camping in Michigan's UP and we're experiencing some rain right now which means early nights and late mornings. Feels pretty good for a change. We saw you have a new video out that we'll be watching soon. Safe travels!

I can feel you on the having to overcome issues and lack of sleep. Wife and I just returned today from a kayaking centered lake trip. Traffic on the way there was the worst we have seen. I had even planned an alternate route to avoid the typical spots, only to end up in jam #1. Decided to attempt the typical route since it was at a faster speed limit and we were now behind. Jam #2 soon followed. Attempted to try an alternate route only to discover I had made the same decision as about 1000 others. Found our way back to the interstate and pushed through. Hit the last stretch of the typical hang up prone ares and discovered jam #3. All in, this added over 2 hours to the typical 4 hour drive. Even further behind than what we had planned for on a worst case scale. The camping spot was very nice, but you can tell camping etiquette is lost on some. We always seem to get the site beside those people. That caused a lack of sleep when we should have gotten the best sleep in a while. The scenery, weather, and time on the lake made up for it, but we still are chasing that perfect trip. Maybe one day.....

Oh boy, I'm so sorry. When we were tent camping we always seemed to camp next to the loudest people who wanted to drink around the campfire until 4am and then start fighting. It was awful. We started bringing along ear plugs and that really helped. We haven't had issues like that now that we're in our camper. We can always turn on the air conditioner, the heater, and a couple of fans to block out any loud sounds. Ha ha ha! Hope you're able to recover from your trip!
@derelict_wanderer2 жыл бұрын
@@TakeATripTogether We've had the drunks, but no fights yet. Haha. First time out, in fact. Then it was college kids that laughed loudly till about 4 am. This time, it was the loud children coupled with the campers putting up a bright fluorescent light on the back side of their tent. I did use the earplugs this go around, but I'm gathering parts for a square drop build that will mitigate most issues we've had so far. And yeah, a maxx air fan will be installed. Still probably at least a couple of years out right now. Glad to see how others deal with imperfect living. It helps me keep a perspective a bit better.

@@derelict_wanderer Same here. Yes, you're definitely not alone. You sure will love your square drop once you get it built. Having solid walls around you makes a big difference.

Is Whitefish Point the darkness park?
@TakeATripTogether2 жыл бұрын
No, it isn't an official dark sky park but it's very dark there .. other than the light from the lighthouse, of course. 😁 In August, we spent some time at Headlands International Dark Sky Park which is west of Mackinaw City and it wasn't as dark there as Whitefish Point. We'll share more about that trip in upcoming videos so stay tuned!

The Kp-index describes the disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field caused by the solar wind. The faster the solar wind blows, the greater the turbulence. The index ranges from 0, for low activity, to 9, which means that an intense geomagnetic storm is under way. (Here you go. We have a better signal by Tahquamenon Falls.) 😁
