I am of the view that Lam Drukpa Kinley was kind of a rebel. He rebelled against the dharma being practiced only by the monks and the elites. He wanted to shock and embarrass one and all, he was physically dirty and was known for drinking and freely used expletives with sexual insinuations. He had a brother who was in quite a high position in the monastery but poked fun at the rigidity of the rules and conduct of monks.
