Rassie needs to be awarded the Order of Ikhamanga. He has done more for SA sports in just 8 years than anybody has done in decades. Transforming the teams and winning mentality are two things he implemented from the get-go, effortlessly. I’m assuming he lost friends from the racist bunch, who couldn’t believe he made Siya the Captain and started a World Cup game with a black front row in Beast, Bongi and Trevor. That quarterfinal against Japan in 2019 brought tears to my eyes seeing how far we had come as a nation, all thanks to one man, the great Uncle Rassie

Very few (if any) white people would have had a problem with the black front row selection. Our problem is when people are put into positions that they don't deserve purely on race. There is myriad of examples of this in the public sector. Maybe, you should put your focus on that kind of racism which is very alive in South Africa!

@@johnjames6620 I appreciate your sentiments and fully agree re the public sector. Like you, I am equally a victim of this cadre deployment that doesn't take our country forward. You are however wrong to instruct me on what racism I should focus on. The video here is on rugby, not the public sector, and you have failed to make one example of a former black player who was incompetent but selected into the team. Instead, many talented black players were overlooked purely based on their skin colour. Mampimpi would never have been selected under Heyneke for example. Besides his colour, he wasn't from an elite background schooling-wise. Days when you were the baas barking instructions are over. You should never ever instruct me on what I should talk about on a public platform, ever!

@@user-mi1oi9gv3w A few things: 1. Re instructing you: I never instructed you what to talk about. Rather, you made a sweeping comment and I responded. If you believe you have the right to make a comment, then you must accept that others, including me, have the right to respond in the way they feel is appropriate. 2. Public sector / rugby: The situation in rugby cannot be separated from the broader situation in South Africa where white people leave the country because of the racism of the government and affirmative action policies. 3. Former black player who was incompetent but selected: I can certainly list former coaches (Alistair Coetzee and Pieter de Villiers) who were affirmative action appointments and less than inspiring in the role. Also, I can list many white rugby players (like Duhan van der Merwe) who have elected to play for other countries, probably because of affirmative action policies. 4. Now your chance: Please provide a link to a press article or twitter comment where white people have taken issue with the selection of the black players you mentioned? If there is indeed any, it would be representing the views of a miniscule percentage of white people in South Africa.

@@johnjames6620 Now I see you just want to make a case for some reverse racism which doesn't exist. I still maintain that your argument is irrelevant to my initial comment. I asked you for non-deserving players that were favoured and you give me two black coaches whom, in all honesty, Pieter Devilliers was miles ahead of Heyneke Meyer in terms of success. He was never a clueless coach nor did he not deserve to coach the Boks. If performance equals racism then what to you about the failures of Heyneke, losing to Japan and receiving over 50 from the ABs, which to date remain the stain in the Boks' glorious history. Be factual in your attempt to make a moot point. Duhan is playing for Scotland and we are not missing him. He is not better than a Mampipi or Kurt-Lee (both black players btw) so he would probably be a third-choice 11 in the current Bok squad anyway. His choice to leave SA should not be the reason you spew lies about some reverse racism. In real rugby racism, Libok would never be a 10 in a World Cup. Siya would never be a captain (and everybody agrees that he is the best leader in world rugby), and Am would never be referred to as the world's best centre because there would be excuses about his weight, height, background etc.). We are stronger now, at our very best, because of Rassie's transformative mindset and you can argue that with someone else. Thank you for reading.

Ja, it's kak hey. I hope you're not lonely. Don't lose heart though. I've lived in the UK for 22 years and would have moved back to SA by now if it wasn't for my Eng wife. If I learned one thing, it's not to try and replicate what you had in SA, but to adapt to the place you're living in now and make the most of the countryside. Sterkte.

Best Bok coach's are Kitch Kristie and Rassie Erasmus. Everyone else got consumed by their egos and pressure, Mallet and White are prime examples. Kitch and Rassie understand the psychology of a great team, Kitch would've probably defended the WC and beat the Lions if it wasn't for the cancer that took his life
