UPDATE: South Africa won the rugby world cup again this year. Second time in row after winning it in 2019. We have now won the cup 4 times, more than any country in the world.

So proud to be a South African. I would say the World Cup wins of 1995 and 2019 were two of the most defining moments in our country. Coach, you hit the nail on the head with your remarks about the AFL, which is applicable, at least to us outsiders, as a common problem experienced in American sport. Rugby doesn't have that. USA rugby, despite the obstacles faced by mainly the administration of the game in the USA, is part of the international rugby community, and shares the values with the "bigger nations" in rugby. I'm obviously first and foremost a Springbok supporter, favourite UK team is Scotland, and favorite "second tier nation" is the USA Eagles.

When you mentioned how alot of professional American athletes are only in it for the money you nailed it. It is also the reason the USA will never ever be a world champion at any other sport except the games that you play. Americans call your baseball the world series??? You call the NFL winners world champs?? The USA could easily be a top Rugby nation if they cared more about pride of their country than a cash award.
