A big advantage of catalytic burners is the performance in windy conditions, they will stay lit without a windscreen.

I bought this Stove and after watching a few videos on YT I came to the conclusion that this unit has one major defect, its legs are not finished properly by the manufacturer and the heater is unstable, it moves on a flat surface.
@ChasingAdventuresCOАй бұрын
It does slide around if it's on a smooth surface. They should have added rubber
@waldemarreczydlo3830Ай бұрын
@@ChasingAdventuresCO In addition, the grill also requires improved mounting, which I did of course, but this should be up to the manufacturer and from what I saw, unfortunately, they don't care about it.

yeah, that was one of my cons about the stove. but don't let this one stove dictate rest of other great products they have.

@@ChasingAdventuresCO Finishing this topic, I will add that the gas tube is definitely too short, because when using a tripod, the gas cylinder can only hang, which of course I have improved. Best regards

Those are cool little adapters from isobutane to butane & isobutane to propane. I didn’t see them in your store though. Is it something you are comfortable sharing links for or are you trying to avoid the situation of going against manufacturer recommendations? :)

Thanks, just what I needed to know. As a stove it's just a backup so not so worried about 4min boiling. But I as a heater for my van I think it would be great. I'm also trying to get all my devices to run off butane cannisters. In Australia you can buy them anywhere and are cheap and they seem to last forever lol
@ChasingAdventuresCO9 ай бұрын
Glad it was helpful! but I need to let you know, when I was using butane canister, the heat output was the weakest. maybe its because I was using it in a colder day.
@TX_TANK9 ай бұрын
Not too shabby bro! I think as a little portable outdoor heater it would work pretty well. You can just plant it right next to you on those colder camping days and it would great. But lets talk about those fireproof fingers of yours man! I would've ruined the whole video by dropping that lid on the floor after scorching my fingers!! Also, where do you get those awesome propane covers at?!?! Bitchin' 🤙

yes, I think when Firemaple designed this that was the intent. and my fingers been through a lot. LOL and the leather propane cover is self made using real leather. one of a kind for sure. LOL

I bought this stove and the adapter for propane. The heater worked only wth isobutane and not with propane. Any tricks to make it work with propane?
@ChasingAdventuresCO8 ай бұрын
hmm no tricks. I just plugged the adaptor into the propane and it worked.
@beastslayer91537 ай бұрын
Your adapter may have a screw for extra pressure regulation. Why do you say it didnt work? Didnt light>? Or shot flames?
@gregdalton93177 ай бұрын
Definitely didn’t shoot flames. Had a hard time getting it to lite and stay lit with the propane.

Why do these KZbinrs all seem to think that isobutane and butane/propane mix are the same thing?
@ChasingAdventuresCO15 күн бұрын
I never said it was the same thing..
@sailingboatkhaos739615 күн бұрын
@@ChasingAdventuresCO You say that the manufacturer says to use butane/propane mix but that isobutane is expensive and so you have an adapter to make it use butane or propane. Can you explain the logic of that? It's not just you. Other KZbinrs are doing it too. I spent an hour looking at alternative stoves yesterday because a KZbinr said that this one only used expensive isobutane but then I checked the Firemaple website and saw it said to only use butane/propane mix. Which is obviously no more expensive than butane and propane.
@ChasingAdventuresCO8 күн бұрын
yes, you are correct, manufacture stated to use butane/propane mix which is what isobutane is A blend of both butane and propane fuel. so that is why I said Isobutane is expensive and used adaptors to see if propane or butane would work with the stove. hope that clarifies your confusion.
@sailingboatkhaos73966 күн бұрын
@@ChasingAdventuresCO Isobutane isn't butane/propane mix, it's an isomer of butane. It's a different gas. It's a bit of a shame that you're presenting yourself as an authority on this stuff and giving out wrong information. Even after it's been pointed out to you...
@ChasingAdventuresCO4 күн бұрын
@@sailingboatkhaos7396 umm.. this is straight from Gas One. ISOBUTANE A blend of both butane and propane fuel, isobutane is the quintessential choice for avid backpackers. gasone.com/blogs/announcements/butane-vs-propane-vs-isobutane?srsltid=AfmBOorLWkaR83Fnq2Utz6FxFWiLV6ptaxH8Rl1AeNSmGD9N5z-0Xkyx Most people don't know the chemical compound of each gas so when companies states Butane/Propane mixture they mean Isobutane and this confusion could have been voided if they just stated "Isobutane" but they didn't. question for you, I am curious what you think Butane/Propane mix is. and I am not saying your wrong but I am really curious since you seem like you know your gas because when you type Butane Propane Mix on Google, you get Isobutane canister from companies like Coleman, MSR, Jetboil, ETC.
