The feta, tomato and pepper dish is classic Greek for sure but I've always seen it baked. I eat it with bread. 😀👍 Instead of jalapeño, I believe those were Greek peperoncini (English obviously) which are quite flavorful but not very spicy. Always have a jar in the fridge. Another terrific day, guys.

You have so many excellent dishes to write about but if you do mention it in your nzherald feature, it's called bouyiourdi. Again, it's more often baked (in my experience) and the feta and tomatoes can be whole but if you google *bouyiourdi pan fried,* you'll see the version you and Thomas had.

Lamb is really popular in Greek cuisine outside of Greece for some reason. For example traveling abroad I've found lamb gyros. In Greece gyros is made only of pork or chicken. Never lamb. Lamb is served during big celebrations like Easter dinner, but people's daily diet is made of pork, chicken, veal, fish and lots of vegetables.

Wow. Love spanakopita. Have had the spinach with onions, spinach and feta and the cheese version love them all. Born and grew up in Chicago, only ever had the beef/lamb or lamb/veal gyros. Omg Greek Town in Chicago rocks. Have never tried Greek ice cream. Everytime I've visited Greece have focused on the crazy tasty seafood. Great vlog. New foods to eat when I go again.

Fun fact. Greeks in Greece have never heard of lamb/veal gyros. Gyros in Greece is only made of pork or chicken.

Spanakopita is so simple but really satisfying right?! I think I’m just a huge fan of pies in all their forms though 🤣 We’re the same- lamb gyros is so common where we’re from but it’s not a thing in Greece 😆 I always wonder why that is! JOHN FOSS Really?? Obviously in Greece you're "sleeping with the tsaroochia" as my grandfather used to say. The Olympic Greek beer making company that produces the beer FIX and other beers, is bought by the Danish beer company Carlsberg. So...most commercial "Greek" beers, are Danish owned and operated. Open a book, instead of being a smartass.
