I loved this vlog. Thomas, I enjoyed that you mentioned the worn flooring at the pides. I love seeing things like that. Marble steps that have become bowed from many feet trodding them. Omg, the food was epic pita, lamb and pickle juice. Delicious. That boza never tried but willing to, soooooooooooooo is it boozier in some shops BTW? Asking for me. 😁
@ChasingaPlate5 жыл бұрын
How neat was that floor! I noticed it as soon as we walked in and thought it told such a neat story. I really like things like that too. This sure was a memorable food day. The lamb was a knock out. Here we are!! Back to where we began "Chasing A Plate" the food channel that got my brain to work again and two people that managed to "unslump" me Dr Sueus will tell you "unslumping" is hard to do, but not hard when we got you.💗. Boza was the highlight here and the shop wow!! I love it when you add quirky drinks like in Mexico. The lamb spit and the guys topping up Thomas's skewers how proud was the stall holder as with many other vids the owner just so proud of their goodies. But pickles l never knew this of Turkish foods, bananas, eggs, corn the shelves loaded with the stuff. Not sure l would down the juice but how unusual and fascinating. Great start to such a cosmopolitan City you show off all the feels and the best finds.👍

Bosnians have a drink called "boza", inherited from the Ottoman rule, but it looks totally different and probably tastes different. It has the liquidy consistency of a normal drink, it's served cold, and it was primarily used as a refreshing beverage for summer months. It is almost exclusively made and sold in pastry shops.
@ChasingaPlate Жыл бұрын
That’s so interesting Dean! We’ll have to keep an eye out for it if we ever get to Bosnia! It sounds delicious. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
@deanronson6331 Жыл бұрын
@@ChasingaPlate Yes, it is tasty, and it's an excellent palate cleanser in between pastry bites. My recommendations for Bosnian pastry/desserts are baklava (much juicier and better than what you find in America), tulumbe, hurmasice, and tufahije. Let me just add that you definitely won't regret a trip to Bosnia when it comes to savory food either. Since Bosnia used to be part of the now disintegrated Yugoslavia, visiting a couple of other former Yugoslav republics, Serbia and Croatia, will be worth your while in culinary terms since they all have their own excellent specialties.
