Rubbing has always been racing. Never seen someone rubbing the wall like that racing though. If he never wins a race for the rest of his career, he became legend at Martinsville in 2022.

There's no reason to change that rule. Everyone's not going to start doing it. That was a once in a blue moon situation. Ross Chastain had to be in the right situation in the right position and so did Denny Hamlin for that to work.

Correct. Thank you! Someone with some sense. If you watch closely, had ANYONE been higher up the track in his path that would NEVER have worked. It was a gamble all the way, so it was ballsy for more than just one reason. Great comment though. I agree, should not be banned. Things EXACTLY like this is why we watch!

@@0xsergy actually Steve O’Donnell said they weren’t going to implement a rule before Phoenix and doubt they would at all given it’s a situation that is unlikely to present itself again. There’s no way multiple drivers at the end are going to be slinging undamaged cars into the wall risking that move for a win they KNOW will work. Driving like always. This worked this time but doesn’t mean it always will but I guarantee it doesn’t get banned nor will it ever be successfully performed for a championship contender position again.

The right side really didn't appear that bad surprisingly. He committed going into the third turn and eased up to the wall. Just appeared to scuff the fenders and sidewalls of his tires. A shopping cart in a grocery store parking lot could have done more damage.

Why make a rule against something that had no other negative effect on anyone but losing a spot in the chase ....isn't that the name of the game ?
