My only sailing encounter with it thus far was on my Competent Crew course. Someone else got the nice broad reach through going upriver to Saltash. I ended up on the helm as we short-tacked back against an October F7 (on a mono, with some serious lean on) aiming straight for the back of one ferry while waiting for the gap to open up behind the next one going the other way. Definitely less relaxed than this video. Been over it in a car several times as we almost bought a house in Torpoint last year. Now we're going liveaboard instead, so I expect we'll be back in the Tamar dodging ferries and warships at some point.

Thanks for watching. Yes I agree it can be very stressful. And at those times I'm not taking video so no one ever knows! Have you seen this video of a live aboard? kzbin.info/www/bejne/oITOeYyjeK2YrpI

@@WoodsDesigns Interesting vessel. We've already bought a sailing cat, just waiting for the spring to get it back in the water and move aboard (Not one of yours I'm afraid, but I am about to build a Duo/Tryst for tender and playtime duties).

Chat looks pretty good in that setting. Moving right along in any case on a very broad reach.
