Some notes on Esau Jr. Although it completely ruins your run as some characters: Lost and Tainted lost die immediately after using it Forgotten and Tainted forgotten both lose soul form Jacob and Esau have save file corruption issues It can be a game changer on others: Lazarus gets essentially an extra life Tainted Isaac gets 8 extra inventory slots Tainted Eve can use Esau black hearts to make clots, switch back and Sumptorium to gain black hearts Tainted Lazarus essentially gets a 1 room charge on Flip, meaning you can stay as your better character the whole game Tainted Jacob can be damaged by, or even kill Tainted Esau without turning into the lost (Biggest run winner of my life) Use with caution, but it's actually a cracked item in some situations.

Definitely excited to never see this character ever again. It’s the kind of character that’s fun to see proof of concept synergies without feeling like you’re cheating but there’s no tangible endgame to the character since by design you can’t interact with more than half of the mechanics of the game

He’s basically a cheat code. Break the game, craft clicker, get completion marks. I wouldn’t do it as that ruins the entire fun of isaac (playing different characters to unlock things)

The concept of the character is super interesting and really impressive to see working.... that said it feels very out of place and sadly less fun than the idea sounds. I think part of it is how many different consumables were added into repentance that complicate recipes and also the fact that every item that isn't unlocked yet just ends up being breakfast so it really pushes you to do them last. Tain feels the most like a mod in both the best and worst ways.

3:09 ish I completely disagree, one of the best ramen places in San Francisco never did delivery and you would have to wait upwards of an hour to get a seat but now you can just order it from food deliveries, and they separate the noodles and broth so they don't get soggy, that pretty standard practice from what I understand, the broth is also separate so you could just warm it up if you wanted. Do they not separate it in Canada?

Tainted Cain basically just turns this game into not tBoI. The idea is super cool and I had fun with him while I had his unlocks, but honestly it turns the game into a chore because instead of going on autopilot and picking up good or bad items, you either craft trash and die on the caves 2 or look up how to craft the items you were meant to get (which happen to take more effort i.e. every boss reward except HP items take a ton of consumables you'd rather have to yourself). Regular Isaac is strategy in making the most of what you have, Tainted Cain's only strategy is abusing mechanics to guarantee what you want.
