I refuse to believe that the hp ups are the worst items in the game. Imo they should be the lowest in B tier. Hp is just so valuable in repentance

this 10000000000000% with so many items in the game Health up items become less and less common, if this was regular vanilla i would agree on the placement but not anymore. at worst its just extra health and at best it pushes you further into playing devil beggers, Devil Monties, Confessionals, Blood Donations, and the most obvious its trade material for Devil Deals

there are all other type of pickup that grants you hp up ie soul/dark/skeleton heart, or pills, cards etc, which are all common items than red hp up. the different is that when you see a hp pedestal, you kinda want it to be other items.

@@catmeme4life220 paying for deals is much worse In soul/dark hearts then red hearts. Hp pills exist sure but that doesn't mean it will be in your pill rotation or if you'll be lucky enough to find among all your other pills assuming you even use pills. The hp car is what the strength card? I guess but you only use that for devil deals if you have 0 red hearts since it doesn't work otherwise

Not to be that guy but…skill issue You will be getting tons of soul hearts if you pay attention for tinted rocks and secret rooms HP ups are just not valuable when you could be getting stat up items instead for your boss drops Soul hearts are just more valuable too since you dont lose deal chance Literally the only use for HP up items are the extra HP you get being fodder for devil deals or Hp converters like guppys paw not actually having the Hp itself is helpful unless you are on one or two heart container Tl;dr HP ups are not worth over other items

@@zerovking7629 you're correct the majority of stat ups are better then hp ups but at that point you're arguing about things that would normally be in A tier to high B for the for 90% of those items which nobody is arguing about Also everyone that agrees with HP up items being in B tier is saying it BECAUSE it's payment later down the line for Devil Deals Yes you can pay 3 soul hearts for a deal but that's just bad when you can pay 1/2 red hearts instead Soul hearts are there to protect your deal chance not really for deal payment like the majority of the time

The last time I used The Virus on purpose was Afterbirth+ where killing an enemy with it had a chance to drop Black Hearts. Now that's been changed and the only Black Heart generating Item is Serpent's Kiss, which I think is a deeply underrated Item.

i feel like hp ups can go a little higher if not only for being devil item fodder, but also they assist no red heart characters with a little boost and the only red heart only character absolutely relies on them when she runs low on wisps. red health is amazing for t maggie and t eve by assissting their damage significantly, and all characters with any red hearts can hugely benefit from them via things like blood dono machines and devil beggars- plus they enable huge synergies like panic button iv bag or crows heart goats head

While dollar is objectively better than quarter, it never shows up. You can only get the dollar from slot machines, while the quarter can show up in devil deals, golden chests and super greed drop, making it more accessible
