Pamela is one of the most chilling and heartbreaking songs I have heard in a long time. The thing I love about this band, is the level of discomfort and terror they bring their songs is extremely authentic. The album is great - but what I miss here is the vocal intensity or insanity from the album ... this it what takes Chat Pile to a unique level.
@spaghettiagain39142 жыл бұрын
This is what i was just thinking. Likely the vocal technique he uses on the album isn't safe and he isn't able to do it much on tours cause of that. Many vocalists start this way but usually the ones that stick around either stop trying to scream at all or learn how to actually do it safely.
@rossfaulkner45 Жыл бұрын
It makes sense to sacrifice your voice for the albums and switch style slightly for vocal cord preservation and stamina while performing on stage.
@maxxximum_productions Жыл бұрын
Vocalist here, can confirm. My overall technique is safe enough, but sometimes I want to add something a little extra unhinged, so I do that in studio and then don't go AS hard live, if I have multiple concerts over a short period. If it's just one show, I'll go all fucked though.

Does Mr Busch regale the audience with local history facts about films and film directors who lived or worked in the area the band is performing at every show, or was this special for Brooklyn? Or is he just a Spike Lee enthusiast? Like, I can see Raygun totally being the sort of person who haunts decaying Family Video outlets in dying strip malls in his native Oklahoma, not driving, just stumbling block after block to see if that place by the gun shop has that Blu-ray of "She Hate Me" and "Girl Number Six" he politely but mumblingly requested a week ago, but I can also see him in the back of van surrounded by empty Tuborg cans and Arby's and Culver's wrappers researching if anyone at all famous was born in the town they are going to. He's Midwestern. Hard working folk, they are. A little bit different.
@creekandseminole2 жыл бұрын
He does. Here in Oklahoma where they are from he's always chatting about the local movie making scene and telling the audience about horror films and such.

@@creekandseminole Thus confirming my hope that Comrade Raygun Busch is possibly on levels of true and genuine wholesomeness that few can comprehend. To be sure, his lyrics describe awful things, yet he assiduously does not performatively celebrate atrocity and carnage, but gives a twisted compassion. His heart is as big as his belly. In a way, Chat Pile is the quite positive, as it points to the capacity for sincere outrage and resistance
