Brilliant find, Phil. I had initially thought the “cherub rotator” was some sort of stabilizer for boats. But it is, in fact, a navigation instrument. Billy, they are rather hard to find. Hint, hint. 😉

Hi Phil, it seems your back is not going to let you go on without acting up when ever you do anything that is heavy and or repetitive. Rest things will still be there when you are ready to get back at the job in hand. Thank you for taking Billy to the Brocantes, I always enjoy those trips by everyone who take us along. Pro tip: When moving a big branch off the road, lift the SMALL end and pivot on the heavy end! You end up lifting far less weight that way. I grew up in a beech woods in the US, and we kids had to make a regular practice of walking ahead of the car and move branches so my mom could drive the car out our quater-mile long lane after a storm.

That ship’s rotation thing might be a torpedo attraction device towed behind ships during WW2 . They saved many lives and ships from being hit and sunk. They came into existence towards the end of the war.

I go to 2nd hand places run by churches and stuff, antiques are quite expensive down here. Thanks m8, done well. Trt some deep heat ointment for your back, it wont fix it but, it'll make it a bit easier. Thanks m8, stay vertical Eh!

They have some great smaller table settings for your games room :) and a great tall bath there if it's your size ;) maybe a vanity a larger one or dual if you needed. A mirror as well as a toilet but that should be new. Baths can be repainted. a few small light fixtures you can go any period for that something not so fancy. Sorry to hear Ryan wasn't well he's a youngster he will come back quickly from that I think. I hope he can help Phil once he does if they can work together to help Phil get on with his repairs. Once that is done then Phil can return the favour. I can relate to the claustrophobia in these brocantes always afraid to break something or fall. Maybe with some of what you have you can do an exchange of goods for things you actually need.

Your restraint in the shops is commendable, it's so easy to get the interesting thing and then find it has no place in your home. Rest your back, no need to try doing work too soon and causing more damage ...you'll just end up down even longer than if you'd let it heal initially. Also, I share your dislike for wallpaper, especially the vinyl coated variety.
