Hi Phil. Trés jolie chatoyance. On the bottom, I see a seal. 🐋 So, that's what the whale is diving for. The dolphin is just trying to distract the whale, to save the seal. The inside inclusion looks also like a poudeetat 🐈‍⬛️(from the back). He's sitting on a stone, looking out at the chatoying ripples on the lake, at night, in the moonlight. Hoping a fish will jump close to him. ...I'd never seen you keep ramping up the speed like that, to get past the wobble. Oulala. I was scared it was gonna fly off of there. Bon weekend, Philippe.

Let's see, bumblebee on the chain saw cut, newt on the bottom, and a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis on the inside. I love the dolphin and whale tale though! It's really got chatoyancy! Really a beauty. I've always got purple somewhere on my skin. Usually I don't know where it came from! My dog and I had to come to an agreement about passing through one particular door in my house. Unless I tell him to go first I'm the one who leads because we had a little mixup that ended up with me on the floor several months ago. We both felt bad about that but I was the one who ended up with purple skin! 💜

I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am always amazed at the gracefulness of your bowl’s curves. I can almost feel the smoothness of the wood, and see bowl as it was “meant” to be, though how you could see it from the original piece, I couldn’t say. It’s gorgeous! Well done!

A very beautiful bowl is the first thing I see Phil. But when the whale is on top I see dog with a real long nose looking to the left with a pair of very tight showes on. When flipped I see a penquin standing on a slug. But I hear voices so maybe I am wrong LOL. Oh then on the bottom an alliigator. For a minture thought I was at a zoo LOL. But what was easy to see was all that chatoyance the piece has. Heck you could see it with after your first gouge cut on the inside. Amazing for sure. And you finish really lit it up. Over the top cool looking piece my friend, Gary

Good morning, Phil, some great looking 👀 Chatoyance on that bowl,🥣, I think you must’ve been having a whale of the time last night, 😂, Great peace ☮️ of Art , I have been having a whale of a time😂, as I have just purchased a ride on lawnmower, it is a big learning curve, there is no steering wheel, just two levers, and I overshot the mark and went into the river, took me two hours with electric winch to pull it out, luck no damage done to me and no damage on the lawnmower, I’m now staying away from the embankment, Running again today , and having to get back on with my HOG project, Have a great weekend. Look forward to next Thursday/Friday.! France,

Thank You Phil, Thank You Mark, Thank You Mark's Beautiful Wife....Phil, life is sure full of bruises and don't I know it... I wonder if Chatoyance is the same as Whitebait ??... You are known for your exceptional finishing. Phil you do not cut corners and seem to always achieve the best finish the bowl has to give...I would imagine 1,200rpm must feel good for a change?... YES, the face inside with the 2 eyes (must be a Chatoyant Maple Bug?)... nice turning Phil and until next time (watch out for that door).... TM

I really like how you can take such odd shapes of wood and turn them into absolutely beautiful, artistic bowls. This piece was no exception. The quilting and chatoyance really are outstanding on this piece as well. I did see the dolphin and whale after you pointed them out. When I first saw that feature in the same orientation, I saw a kangaroo sitting on a rock with his legs crossed (no, I'm not smoking anything either but that probably is an indication of a weird mindset😃).

Beautiful turning, Phil. I do see the whale - it was quite evident once you got down towards the bottom. I'll have to take your word for the dolphin. Then, when it is turned over, I see a bird with a minnow or something in its beak. Love the chatoyance and the chainsaw mark, which reminds me that nothing that is here on earth is 100% perfect. Beautiful bowl Phil, that is a fantastic piece of maple, and you did it wonderful justice! Sorry about your bruising, my hands look like that all the time now that the "golden years" have arrived, not sure if that's a good thing or not, it is what it is. But anyway, the bowl is really a keeper, I see your dolphin, I also see a little mouse with his hind legs crossed sitting on a mound with a "you got a problem" look on his face. He's just chillin', enjoying the sunshine! LOL Thanks for posting Phil, you always do such a great job. Blessing's to you my friend. Rick

Nice one Phil. You’ve inspired me to sort through my wood pile and find some Maple. I know there’s some out there! I have to admit to being a bit obsessive about cracks. I usually will spend some time to minimize them. That’s a very beautiful piece of wood and I think you’ve done it justice. Cheers, Rick

Two more gone this morning Phil, no ad blocker. It doesn't want you to know we are Whitstable Choral Society Kent on various platforms i think, definitely f b. I'm the seated singer behind a music stand. Last try for today.

Yes that's our concert from Saturday, hurrah and yes I am singing my little heart out with my fellow tenors, I have two second altos on my left who have beautiful voices. Such shame it's not in sync. Isn't Kirsten the mezzo absolutely gorgeous! That's my wife with white hair in the foreground leaning on the box pew trying not to look bored. 😂 Glad you found it Phil. The picture you found is so old it was when I was able to walk up the steps in Canterbury cathedral so I think I might be up in the middle somewhere but I can't really see on my phone. That's our now retired long serving director Dr. David Flood conducting us there.
