Well dang Phil that is just way too cool! I love everything about it. Every time you took more off it just looked better and better. Glad I did not watch this yesterday because I had just got back from taking a nap at the oral surgeon and was finding it hard to stay awake. Well worth waiting. The drill chuck sounds like the one i got at one of the 2 local woodworking stores we all have. I complained about how the chuck key did not fit and they suggested I go to Harbor Freight and get a universal chuck key. Right! So I am using the more than 50 year old Jacobs chuck and key I use on my metal lathe. Another beauty my friend, Gary
@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshopАй бұрын
Hahaha, oh yeah, the elusive universal chuck key! LOL! Too funny! I bet that old Jacobs works as good as the day it was born. Sorry about the oral surgery, I don't even like the sound of that! Thanks, buddy!
@ThePapa1947Ай бұрын
Yup that old chuck works great. And so does the one on my Craftsman drill press that is a twin to yours . I think I bought mine in 1973. All went well with the oral surgeon. Gary

I really like how you save the interesting parts provided by nature. I wonder if on a piece like this if more of the good stuff could be saved by adding a lid. Thank you for making these videos. I really enjoy them
@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshopАй бұрын
I like lids and wish I could do more of them, Margie. The types of wood I usually turn are often odd shaped and have voids. The top of this piece is uneven and has those voids. I just don't think a lid would look good on them, but, I could be wrong! 😀
