I'm embarrassed to say that it had never occurred to me to combine what I know of my family's English and Scottish genealogy with searches for EVPs and other paranormal activity in the places my ancestors lived, but seeing your videos has started me down a rabbit hole that is eye opening. Thank you for combining history and EVPs and these historic places in such a wonderful way. Chatsworth! Oh how I wished I had visited on one of my trips! It’s quite breathtaking and it’s history associated with Bess of Hardwick is stunning. I thought that the Earl of Shrewsbury may have had a little crush on Mary, Queen of Scots. I thought that there were plenty of EVP’s although you were in a crowd that too, was touring. Thank you, especially for denoting the history of this over the top residence!
@EVP-Voices3 жыл бұрын
Hello Stephanie! There's always another trip for you to plan, who knows what the future may hold, never dare to dream! No crowd, we were walking alone but there were other visitors on site. Usually we only record at a site, when we are the only ones there. Without sole access, it makes isolating EVP very dubious. I'm not sure what George thought of Mary but he was fiercely loyal to Elizabeth and her father, it would have been a very dangerous thing for him to have done! ;)
@dianetheisen86642 жыл бұрын
I heard, or rather read 📚, that he did have a 'crush' on Mary and Bess was not happy about it. But this was in an historical novel, so, some poetic license was involved.

Hi there! I have to be honest, our visit to Chatsworth House resulted in the least amount of EVP that we've ever captured on a field recording. It didn't help that we couldn't wander alone; a lot of potential voices were discarded as they might have been members of the public. Thanks Rachel, What a stunning building and history, that Rockpool is my kind of landscape, very beautiful. It’s a bummer you were so constrained and restricted, but difficult times, It’s good to know that even in those circumstances you got some good EVP’s, especially the party goers that never left, but having guests that never leave your house after a party is my idea of a nightmare. 😆. Really looking forward to your next one.
@EVP-Voices3 жыл бұрын
That garden really was idyllic, the smell of the pinetum was divine. I am a bit selfish though, just wanted everybody to go away so that I could wander and pretend that it was mine for the day! At least the invisible party goers wouldn't need looking after, and they're not likely to make a mess. I'd rather have them, than a large crowd of the living! ;) Hampton Court Castle next... :)

@@EVP-Voices Yes sitting by that pond would have been lovely, I do much prefer nature to crowds, also difficult for you to get the spirit/s to chat when there is too many other people around. I used to have a cemetery that backed onto my house where I lived in Melbourne, and I would often walk my Dog’s at 2am on a weekend, loved how quiet it was and relaxing, I’ve always said live people bother me more than the dead. I love the history as always, I am excited to hear the Hampton Court one. ❤️

@@EVP-Voices Hey Rachel, hope your work on the next video is going well, and you of course. Yes I loved living there nice and quiet, my Grampy was buried there so I knew he would look after me anyway, I’m not one for visiting gravesites of my loved one’s because I figure I can talk to them anywhere, but I did used to walk past and say G’day to my Gramps, and my Mum was in an Urn on my Sister’s mantle piece so I used to tap her urn and say hello, my Niece’s and Nephew were 11, 7, and 3 when she died, and all would ask me to get Mum down so they could have a cuddle with her when they were fighting with their Mum or just sad, which I think is pretty healthy. I caught my Nephew when he was 10 saying to a mate, do you want to meet my Grandma and the poor unsuspecting kid saying yes and then my Nephew going haha she’s in here(pointing at the urn) still makes me laugh the kid nearly fainted. I do love all the history you find on a headstone, and I wonder about the people, there even was a Prison warder off a prison hulk during Convict times that was killed by the convicts, I always visited that grave as it was right behind my house and found it interesting, especially since I have convict ancestors, but from the 2nd fleet so very early on. I had a dead woman follow me home once, I Took her back the next day she showed herself to me the next morning, and then shot over my head and out the window looking like she was squished up like a cartoon or Munch’s scream painting it was very interesting.
