When I was a kid, the Chatsworth Reservoir was full of water and a favorite local fishing spot. After the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake is was decided to drain it and other earthen filled Dams around Southern California.

I'd like to also add that this pond your see here is outside the original reservoir and is actually a Spring. The house in the background was owned by a high school friends father. He had a big party there once that I attended.
