Hi Ben. stumbled upon this video during my research. THANK YOI for comparing the two places I was debating. everyone else has videos on nashville vs knoxville so this was very helpful. Would also be cool see an updated video in case there has been more growth or additions to either city since this was about a year ago. Thank you again!

Benefit of Chattanooga. Atlanta isn’t too far away. Nashville and Knoxville aren’t either. You can reach other southern states very easily in either city.

Very uninformed video. You should’ve had someone from Chattanooga share what Chattanooga has and you share what Knoxville has. It’s very obvious you don’t know the majority of what Chattanooga has to offer however you do know Knoxville.

I was torn between Chattanooga and Knoxville! I am from PA and wanted to move to a warmer, different area. I ended up in Knoxville and am very happy so far. Chattanooga has some nice stuff but I like being close to the smokies and Gatlinburg for when family visits. Chattanooga has more touristy stuff but Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are close to Knoxville so it's not a big deal for me. Also, the Vols are an exciting team to root for and I'm a Pitt alumni. Anyways, Knoxville is wonderful and full of stuff to do!

What the hell are you talking about? Chattanooga has a great downtown area. There are literally multiple streets in downtown Chattanooga with restaurant after restaurant after restaurant to eat at. All within walking distance. I found downtown Chattanooga extremely vibrant to go too and experience. The area around the aquarium is amazing. They have things for kids to do and adults to do also.

I loved this video Ben! I am looking to relocate from South Florida after being here 17 years (originally from Brooklyn, NY). I couldn't decide between the two cities..I want to see mountains from my back yard breathe in cooler area and live a better life. I am so excited for my new journey! It is not too late to start over (I am turning 50 in October!)

Hey this jumped out at me. I’m living in Cape Coral since 2014 (born and raised in NYC too!) and had to get out of here during hurricane Irma. We took shelter in Knoxville and I’ve been in love with the place since. So close to pulling the trigger, selling my house and renting there for a while while I find a new place. At least that’s the dream. Have you moved, got any closer to doing so? Good luck with it all. I’ve been scoping out rentals in Knoxville in the meantime.

KNOX- VEGAS BABYYYY!!!! Lol. I used to live almost in what I like to call a sweet spot - Rhea County. I was about 1:15 from Knoxville and 45 minutes from Chattanooga. I went to school in Chattanooga but worked in both Knoxville and Chattanooga and loved spending time in both towns!

So you’re a Knoxville realtor talking about Chattanooga vs Knoxville 😂 trashing coffee shops and restaurants in Chattanooga. A quick google search leads anyone who hasn’t been to Chattanooga before to see that you’re full of it. What a joke.
@davepov2 жыл бұрын
It's worth noting that since you made this video, Knoxville is now planning to build a minor league baseball stadium on the northern edge of downtown and surround it with apartments, restaurants, pubs and more. If it all happens, it will be a major draw for Knoxville. It's still all about the mountains for my wife and I which is why we're moving to Knoxville when we retire...soon!
@trevorjachimowicz81242 жыл бұрын
This just popped up on my feed. Yeah you need to go back to Chattanooga ASAP and research whats in store for the future there as well. They are building basically a whole new downtown with a canal. Probably larger than the entire downtown of Knoxville. On top of tons of new restaurants, coffee shops, the Tivoli theater that attracts large shows. Two pro soccer teams. Dont get me wrong, Knoxville is a nice small city but has little growth potential being on that bluff.

May I ask where you received your information on Chattanooga’s restaurants and coffee seen. I live in Knoxville as well and have been to Chatt. They definitely have more good restaurants and coffee shops downtown than what you mentioned. Also l, I don’t feel as though it is “full of life” 24 hours a day. Are there any lounges or clubs you can suggest that stay open late?

I like to visit Chattanooga but am partial to Knoxville. As to restaurants I don't think a lot of locals realize how fortunate Knoxville is. There are a lot of really good places to eat in Knoxville. I had some relatives from IL come to visit the Smokys. I told them if they want good food they will have to come back to Knoxville. After their trip they told me I was right. Even though Knoxville is a bigger city Chattanooga feels bigger to me, I guess because the city has about 40 square miles more of land mass than Knoxvile. To me the people seem a little friendlier in Knoxville too, but I haven't spent enough time in Chattanooga to make a fair observation. For me I like to visit Chattanooga but prefer Knoxville for living. Nice video!
@adamanderson68712 жыл бұрын
You have obviously only explored a small portion of downtown Chattanooga. Though it is more spread out, I think Chattanooga has significantly more dining options downtown and I've lived in both cities for years. And we have jax liquor store and Publix downtown...

@jacobwagganer19532 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you on the restaurant segment in Chattanooga. Downtown Chattanooga has a lot of places to eat and wineries as well as breweries. And it’s still growing. Now Knoxville has more for sure, but Chattanooga isn’t bad
@xlxl94403 жыл бұрын
The touristy thing in Downtown Knoxville is very possible. There have been proposals in the past that would attract tourists to downtown Knoxville that just didn't come to pass for whatever reason like Universe Knoxville, and an huge HGTV studio interactive museum project in the old convention center at Worlds Fair park. Also the Tennessee Aquarium was originally supposed to be in Knoxville, for some stupid reason Knoxville leaders rejected it at the time. But that potential is still there. The new Smokies stadium to be built in the Old City has just been approved. It will basically be a mini Truist Park with shopping entertainment and housing. As far as river acces is concerned, this can be and needs to be fixed. But it will take time development and money. There definitely could be commercial and residential development that could take place alongside Neyland Drive that could connect Downtown to the riverfront from 1st creek to Neyland Stadium. The potential is there. There is a lot of potential for Downtown Knoxville to become more of a tourist hub. But as a former Knoxvillian, some folks like Downtown to not be as touristy. IDK.

My feeling is that I wouldn't live in either Chattanooga or Knoxville. I would like to live outside of Knoxville, maybe Maryville. And go into the city to visit, then leave. Same with Chattanooga - I could drive there, see the tourists places, and then drive back to the Knoxville area.
@BenBarredo Жыл бұрын
Maryville isn't Knoxville but it's practically the same town. I mean, you're talking a 10 minute drive. But yea, Maryville is an awesome city. It's a hot market though and very competitive. If you ever want to explore it more, let me know.

wine and liquor downtown chattanooga, there are several downtown .. you need to google downtown lol, And all those downtown knox is because of UT If all you want is downtown food and bars.. yea knox is better. But The crime in knox is much worse as well .. I'm in Knoxville daily, but live in Chattanooga. Id much rather live in Chattanooga over all. And both areas.. the metro areas make the city. Not just Downtown. Try getting around in Knoxville between 1pm and 8pm . You will spend more time sitting in traffic than going to any of those places in Knoxville. Either one u can hang your hat in.. and drive to the other in 2hrs
