I can't tell you how many times people came up to me in Starbucks or a Mall and said, hey don't I know you from somewhere. this reminds me of a video I saw recently "Why Women Are Quitting Their Side Hustle: Leaving LuLaRoe", it's about a pyramid clothing company, they have vast amounts of product to buy, but the low-quality clothes are almost completely beside the point... the emphasis to keep the pyramid growing is all based on members constantly trying to recruit new members to build their own clothes shops who technically "buy" the clothing in order to keep the operation "legal", the clothes just sit in inventory and no real customers actually buy it.

Like last month I had an interview with the self-dubbed “CEO” of a Vector branch in Culver City. I arrived late, maybe to my benefit, and already got pyramid schemer vibes from him. Two other guys, teenage, were already seated dressed in business casual and with holding clipboards. The goal was to reach 50 potential customers aged over 30-something like that. If the quota was met, we were awarded a free apple peeler! I was 18. Then, in the one-on-one interview, which I bombed and half-assed most of the way, I told him this all sounded like a pyramid scheme. He gave me a blank stare like I was stupid. He said it wasn’t because there was a base pay. Eventually I blocked him and told him to F off. Vector and Cutco are infamous. Beware.
