Jimmy, you should try Tchaikovsky's Elder Race. It's all of 200 pages and is two alternating POVs: one is a traditional fantasy princess going to ask a wizard in his tower for help, the other is the "wizard" himself who is actually a researcher from a future Earth where tech is significantly no different to these people from magic. He's not supposed to interact with them at all but decides he can't let many of them die from the coming crisis. Very fun book with things getting translated differently between the two sides, like when the researcher pulls up his voiced computer feed they think he's communing with spirits for advice.

I loved Chess Story and enjoyed 24 Hours in the Life of a Woman by Zweig. I'm currently reading an autobiographical non-fic by him called The World of Yesterday (on the impact of the world Wars on Austria, where he grew up, and the world at large). I just love his elegant and evocative writing style. 👌 I've also read A Shadow In Summer and A Betrayal in Winter and can't wait to continue on. 🙌 I'm so excited for Murphy to start this series as well!
