For outside cords you can tape the junctions with electrical tape to keep the water from getting in. I've been doing that for many years at work and it works great as long as you tape it up securely

Hi Fern, thanks for your lovely vlogs, just a quick nail tip: If you use a fast drying top coat, you should try to do all coats as quickly as possible (with no wait time in between) because then, all the coats can bond together and you get a better result. I just started doing this 1-2 years ago and it really works better. Happy Holidays!

We literally just decorated our tree yesterday. Long story short, we couldn't find our old tree because we had some junk removal and we think possibly they took it. So I bought a new tree from Canadian Tire on Dec 8 (it said 3 day shipping) and because of the postal strike it was delayed. We didn't think we'd be able to get it in time but yesterday right as we were going out to buy a tree, it was on our porch!!! A Christmas miracle 🎄✨ my birthday is in Jan so we keep it up most of then. Our new tree changes colours with a remote like yours, it's a flocked tree. We got it half off!

Merry Christmas Fern and family! 🎄 Going to the movies on Christmas day is the best! I went to see all 3 Lord of the Rings movies on Christmas day and it was such a nice vibe in the theatre (and not just for LOTR). Just be prepared that some theatres in busy areas can get quite busy. For what it's worth, you can actually return audiobooks and get your credit back. Not sure what happens once you've finished the book though ;).

if you use ginger + garlic often, make paste :D i take half half or a little more garlic than ginger, and just toss in the blender. then i add some tumeric powder until its the color of egg yolks, and olive oil until its just soft enough to scoop in to jars. One i toss in the freezer, and one in the fridge. it lasts a very long time and shortens cooking time ;D great both when making soups, curries and marinading :D

I can relate to the healthcare anxiety!! I've dealt with debilitating period cramps that have gotten worse in my mid 20s and finally at age 31 I got my first internal and external ultrasounds done lol.. 😂💀 I really hate getting my own bloodwork and tests done.

@@cozyplantlady11 yeah I have phone anxiety with making appointments too. It sucks.. especially gynaecological issues and explaining stuff to a receptionist lol. I am trying to see if I have endometriosis but it may be hard to detect. They did find a endometrial polyp that isn't cancerous (maybe more than one idk) that can cause heavy bleeding so that's interesting.. I have a follow up in Jan with my doctor 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻it seems fairly common online. No idea if I will ever have kids or not but it can also cause infertility 😢 or make it harder to get pregnant with polyps. So a lot of people who mention their own experiences online try for a baby after getting the polyps removed.

Yeah that’s what my boyfriend’s dad said too! Maybe it’s just the ones I got, but there’s warning tags at the connectors that says to keep in covered receptacle. Definitely didn’t see that the first time 😅

I have been trying to grow my hair out but my bangs are a pain..or lack of bangs. I wanted a bob but the hair in my face/mouth drives me nuts. So I am watching the bang trim very closely… I am a huge Christmas person but this year is extra because of my granddaughters health concerns. I’m sorry for your Christmas lights dying. I was using a space heater in my living room for full heating in my place. I had to put a piece of furniture in front of the wall heater. One day I smelled “hot wires” and followed the smell to the wall where I was plugged in. But the smell was coming from the place where I turned the socket on to use the heater. I opened it up after taking the screws out and the plate off. I could really smell it bad so I turned off the switch. When I got the electrician her he told me you can’t use space heaters full time. Especially when it’s forty year old building. But it blew a lot of plugs up and I had no lights in the living room. So it’s such a cute space heater - it looks like a fireplace. So cute, sits in my garage.
