Chaula Bara Recipe ( Odia ) | Chaul Bara Recipe : Chaula bara or Chaul Bara is a deep fried snack or breakfast belongs to West-Odisha. Chaula bara is prepared with more amount of boiled rice and less amount of white gram ( urad dal ) . It goes very well with specially two types of chutney called Tentel jhol ( Tentuli Jhola / Tamarind water ) and Patalghanta chutney ( Tomato chutney ) . So, learn the step-by-step procedure of making the super crispy Chaula bara and two types of chutney.
Ingredients :
For Chaula Bara we need :
1. Boiled Rice ( Usuna Chaula ) - 1cups
2. White lentils ( Urad dal )/green gram - 1/3 cup
3. Carom seeds ( Ajwain ) - A pinch or 1/4 tsp
4 Crushed ginger and green chilli - 1 /2 tbsp ( 1 inch ginger and 1 green chilli )
6. Salt to taste
For Tomato Chutney we need :
1. Tomato - 2 ( medium )
2. Garlic clove - 3 nos
3. Green chilli - 2
4. Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
5. Mint leaves - 1 tbsp
6. Ginger - 1/2 inch
7. Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp ( optional )
8. Salt to taste
9. Water-1/3 Cup
For Tentuli jhola ( Tamarind water ) we need :
1. Tamarind ( Tentuli ) - 2 tbsp
2. Garlic - 2 nos
3. Green chilli - 1
4. Roasted chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp ( Kashmiri red chilli powder or any chilli powder )
5. Sugar - 1 tsp ( or add according to your taste to reduce the sourness )
6. Salt
7. Coriander leaves
