So, if rain is commonly known as ulan in Chavacano, then rainy is maulan. It is commonly written and spelled as attached to the noun word to turn and function the noun into an adjective. It is used in a verb to indicate Progressive tense, the "-ing" in english. "Ta man" is more of the correct one to use. On another thought, it could also be a shortened version of "ta man". Avoiding an extra syllable. Whether saying "tan ulan" or "ta man ulan", both still mean the same thing, "It is raining." Correct me if I'm wrong.
