I can agree with Skitten on the Sasuke and Naruto part, but I must state that Naruto likes Hinata a lot more than Sasuke likes Sakura; the movies show the development of feelings and love between them and they make a good couple. Wish they didn’t do him dirty in Boruto by making come off as neglectful to his family because of his Hokage duties, and there is even a manga panel of Naruto discussing with someone how he feels like he is not a good enough dad or husband because he grew up alone which is saddening

Sasuke and Naruto are connected by opposite suffering and trauma. Naruto clings to Sasuke because he has never had anyone like him in his life and Sasuke doesn't kill Naruto early on because he doesn't want to once again lose what he considers someone precious to him. Different motivations and subsequent actions but both are rooted in fear of loss and past trauma. It's not gay though. Not every kind of love is the eros one.

That's only part of it. The other part is Sasuke is his best friend, and he's not an non empathetic asshole who will see his friend being TRAUMATIZED to the point of borderline insanity over and over again starting when he was SEVEN years old and just go "eat a dick, I'm out." this is Naruto, who values his connections to others more than most because he grew up so alienated from everyone around him. It's also the hidden leaf, where the ninja in the village were ready to DIE to protect Naruto just because someone was hunting him. Because he's a leaf Shinobi and they have the will of fire. It's almost like the show has themes. Their friendship is more extensive than just like at the end. Sasuke valued how Naruto was constantly striving to be better than Sasuke, which motivated him to work harder in turn. Sasuke disliked showing it, but by the chuunin exams he openly acknowledged Naruto as his friend and rival. His respect for Naruto grew MASSIVELY after his fight with Gaara, and he even made sure Sakura knew specifically that Naruto saved them all, not himself. Sasuke is a LOT deeper a character than most people give him credit for. Most people just write him off as some angry guy when they've not seen any Naruto in 5 years but just assume they remember all the relevant info. The relationships in this show are really good, if you're not an idiot or you actually WATCH them instead of just remembering them from years ago.
