I lived across from the Woodland Park Zoo, in Seattle. Late Summer, the Lions would roar around sunset. Shook the walls sometimes, when two of the younger males would start bellowing at each other.

27:36 They actually WERE going to show that, with a conversation with Mufasa and a passing animal, "Catch you later!" "Not if I can help it!" but they had to cut it. To be fair, Simba, in the actual film, mentions a lion's diet to Timon before being introduced to grubs: "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole zebra" "Uhhh, we're fresh outta zebra" "Any antelope" "No" "Hippo?" "Nope" and Mufasa mentions it regarding the Circle of Life, "We eat the antelope, and when we die, we become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass"
@demonik2108 Жыл бұрын
Lion king my favorite movie. Just to clarify for the end. In the movie when Mufasa discusses the circle of life he says that gazelle/ antelope eat the grass, lions eat gazelle , and when they die they become food for the Grass. It's just all groups of animals in the movie respect the cycle

There has been some old males still in control at ages even as old as 16-17. There was one male lion who was I believe 17 I think his name was loonkito , that ruled his pride so long that the conservationist or who ever was running the reserve thought about putting him down because he was killing his sons and breeding with his grand and great grand kids. I think he died recently at age 20. Which is insane for a wild lion.
@OrdemDoGraveto Жыл бұрын
The Tier Zoo was comparing only against other predadors, so that the Lion knows who he can steal from and who he better run. Also, some animals do get points for cuteness... Like pandas. Them being cute increases their survivability because humans take care of them.

In general, I noticed that I do not react much to even the hardest atrocities done to Animal _by other Animals_ because Animals are not humans. They don't work like that. They go on instinct and not on malice. Even a cat that plays with it's food, does it to amuse itself, not to cause pain to the mouse. There is a difference (at least for me) and Lions killing the leftover cubs is just the circle of life. Hakuna Matata

This video helped me understand male lions a little better. I used to think there role was just taking over prides and screwing the female lions. Now I know the male lions do actually serve a purpose in the pride unit . From what I understand they control territory and help take down larger prey.
@justguy-463011 ай бұрын
You basically mentioned this when you said "control territory" but it's so crucial that it deserves a mention: they fend off other male lions. Control territory doesn't only mean this because this also involves other predators like hyenas, wild dogs, etc.
@gunghocg10 ай бұрын
Male lions sometimes have an undeserved bad rep. They patrol large areas w/c means fighting invading lions they find. They fight to the death because if invading lions kill them, that means their cubs get killed. It’s heroic actually when u see a lion choose to fight to death (which they do) instead of just running away against greater odds to fight another day. Makes u understand why ppl say a brave person is “lionhearted”. Territory means access to food for the pride. Pride males do hunt but the males&females divide their roles to give the pride the best chances of survival. For Pride males, protection/fighting comes first, it’s their main role in a pride. In solitary, they hunt for themselves 100% of the time cos they dont have any other responsibilities except to themselves & their survival. In a pride, it’s different.

@@questionablecharacter2144 It was a BBC series staring James Nesbitt. A modern take on Jekyll and Hyde. It got canceled six episodes in after one season due to excessive violence. 4:48 this is evidence that nature itself is against the concept of stepfathers.
I think that lion in the end is a leucistic lion which is why his mane is as pale as his fur (it's practically creamish white tho it might be the lighting/brightness). So the fact he managed to have a leucistic cub? Well he's definitely getting a girls attention regardless of his mane that's for sure lol
