Whether it was a work or not, Chavo has a pretty good point here. It was Rey Mysterio who benefited from Eddie's passing more than anyone else directly related to Eddie. Vickie Guerrero was doused in chocolate pudding and vomit and made to make out with FIVE other men within a couple years after Eddie's death (Edge, Big Show, Cena, Dolph, Del Rio), which was very disrespectful, and Chavo got nothing other than a win over JBL and a misplaced ECW Title run (which, that belt was on par with the European Title.) I always felt if 5'2 175 lb Rey got a HEAVYWEIGHT Title push, Chavo should've gotten a short babyface run with the IC Title. Even just two months. The story was already written. He was over with Los Guerreros and had talent in the ring. To go from Kerwin White to finding himself again and winning a top midcard title a year later would've been a nice arc for him.
@Matt-cr4vv
@Matt-cr4vv Жыл бұрын
Vickie had wacky stories with what her character was but a lot of that was because she was game for anything. But also don’t forget she largely only was ever brought in for that full time slot because he had passed so they found a role to help her support the family and she spent around 8 years in a career she had never planned or trained for. So in a sense she did benefit if you want to see it that way. As for Rey it’s a fair point. I don’t think that’s all on him because one has to always remember guys do what they’re told to do but clearly at the start he benefitted a lot because they saw it as a chance to exploit it and make money off it with Rey and it just didn’t work like they hoped it would. And it probably didn’t do as well as I’d could because it was pretty obvious what was happening and that it wasn’t a natural rise to that level but just the WWE trying to capitalize on Eddie passing. If there’s ever a time they’ve used Eddie to look down at it was this time period because a lot of it was low brow shit (Eddie is in hell) and was so transparent to try and use his death. The recent stuff I don’t mind because it ties into Doms old story so it makes more sense than just exploiting a name and it’s led to him getting so much better. But if this same story was being used but there hasn’t been that custody story way back when it would suck to use Eddie all these years later just to use him. But I can get why family would feel off put with that shit to an extent.
@MyChannel-ol1zz
@MyChannel-ol1zz 11 ай бұрын
Don’t blame Rey for being pushed after Eddie’s death. It’s not his fault Vince saw more in him. Vickie was down for anything apparently, some of it may have been a bit much.
@crispycruiser4654
@crispycruiser4654 9 ай бұрын
@@MyChannel-ol1zzI agree Vince should’ve saw way more in Rey than Chavo. Chavo wasn’t World championship material but he got absolutely nothing out of Eddie’s passing. I feel like WWE has an obligation to take care of the family when one of their own dies. That should usually mean more TV time, with more money, which means more championship runs and better storylines. It’s the right thing to do IMO. Now that Bray Wyatt I’m hoping this benefits Bo Dallas in his career. The departed would’ve wanted to see their family succeed. I stand by Chavo at least getting an IC Title run.

That’s actually Eddie’s wife though. There’s a level of respect he has to give Eddie to acknowledge his real life partnership eddie had w/ Vickie when they died. Rey is just some colleague of Eddy. I think Dominik is doing a terrific job portraying a villain now that he’s a member of the Judgment Dsy team. It’s like he’s following Eddie’s villainous footsteps from 18 years ago since both Dom and Eddie turned on Rey Mysterio.

maybe it is real heat but not salt. Eddie was his uncle, they grew up together and wrestled together for so long. maybe he's offended people milking his dead uncle after 15 years

Yeah true, if my family was a wrestling legend name and they are riding on the name I would be a lil mad too, but it's kinda a grey area cause it's paying respect but they also aren't real guerreros like chavo is...hopefully chavo gets the fame he deserves he is a real guerrero!!

Funny thing is Chavo has provided no value to the wrestling business other than being Eddie’s nephew and the side kick to his dad Chavo classic. He can say he’s working with the controversy now. At the end of the day, nobody wants to see Chavo on tv.

Works are used for angles. You work heat to lead up to a match. When's Chavo wrestling Rey again? Also if it was a work to generate heat, why did he immediately backtrack on it? Not a great work if you just give up on it. Not a work, he was upset.
@anxofernandez3344
@anxofernandez3344 Жыл бұрын
Vickie and Chavo should've been used for the angle and technically they still could whenever WWE goes back to the angle, probably at next year's WrestleMania. Dominik could be adopted in kayfabe as a Guerrero. That would get him even more heat than he already has. Chavo and Vickie know how to get under people's skins and Dominik is great at it as well. Just a few segments with Vickie and a few with Chavo (separately because they may not be willing to work with each other) would be enough. Dom has the potential to be the biggest heel in wrestling.

I’ve always loved the Guerreros when they were a when they were faces or heels because they were authentic n they knew how to get your attention regardless how invested you were as a fan. It really does go that far when you know people who don’t follow wrestling and say “I lie, I cheat, I steal.” Lmao 😂

I think you can agree with Chavo about being resentful of a company who used your Uncle to get other people over and not yourself his flesh and blood. But Rey is one of the nicest guy in the business so it comes off as bitter when Chavo does it. But I do get it, like they weren't close friends or anything (Eddie and Rey) so I be mad too if WWE presented that as the case.
