hi there! this is a wonderful pattern! do you feel it is better to make each piece separately and then join or do join them as you go?

Hi Megan! Thanks for your interest in my pattern =) My very 1st Olaf I worked in sections, and yes, I do feel like it gave me more of the desired look, however, it was a little more tedious as well. I'm not so good with stitching all the pieces together, but I was able to control the mid and lower body sections more, as far as looks go. In both patterns, I worked the head directly in from that mid body section. Overall, you can get that same body look from doing a stitch around the lower and mid section as I mention in the video, after you crochet it all as 1 if you choose to do it that way.. I hope that made sense 😕

When i was working with the carrot, i was have a hard time since it was so small. I did a chain 4, then 3 sc in the chain. then turn and ch 1and increased by 2 every other row till i hit 7 st . I also did that in 7 rows, the last row i did back loop only and FO. I also left a tail long enough at starting point to sew up the side and then on the snowman. I think it looks the same.

Hi Colette! Thanks for the tip for others, that carrot nose was the one thing that was unfortunately a very painful part of this pattern. When I made the pattern, I did it in form that was not necessarily typical for common crochet patterns, it was all done for looks, as it looked anyhow to my liking. I really need to update the pattern to make the carrot nose less of a headache for others. (Another reason why I mention to work your carrot as you like in the written pattern) I will try your way and see what I come up with. Thanks again for your rundown on your changes & for your interest in my pattern! =)

Jennifer Ann La Vine Hey Jennifer! I am sorry, I just recently worked up a part 4 of this tutorial. I was misunderstanding people's requests, because for some reason, I thought I had already uploaded one of the complete head. Please go to the playlist for this project: kzbin.info/aero/PLvkXSyfy7280aIO1xRsRupx-6LtGh193H and go to the Head Body Part 4 of the videos. The one I posted in reply to your last comment is not correct. Thanks so much for your interest in my pattern =)

Hi Sally! You will go into Olaf's head the same way you do for the 2 body parts. Nothing different, instead of finishing off the body segment, you will immediately go into the head section of the pattern. I am in the process of uploading a nose tutorial now that I revised to make it easier.. it was so tight and it was a struggle for me to make when I did it, but I was just trying to get a nose that looked as close as possible. The nose tutorial should be, hopefully, processed and ready within the hour for your viewing 😌 Thank you for your patience!

what size hook are you using??? i really want to make this but i need to find the right size
@chaysiecrochet
@chaysiecrochet 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Maddie, I'm using a G hook for the main body parts of Olaf, and then down in hook to an f for the arms, if you are crocheting you will want to move down in size even further for the eyes, such as a d or e hook. The full pattern with supplies and step by step with videos can be downloaded at facebook.com/groups/yarnwars Just click on the files tab once you're on that page =) Hope this all helps!

Hi pardon but where could i get the mouth and eye pieces you have on your completed olaf?
@chaysiecrochet
@chaysiecrochet 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel! You can get the eyes at just about any store that has a craft section... Walmart, Michael's, JoAnn's, Target, but any place would have the felt as well. You could probably find both the eyes and felt at a dollar store if you have one around you. The felt comes in sheets, like paper =)

*PLEASE NOTE* There is not a full head tutorial available for this pattern as of yet. I plan on making one and it will be up in the next couple of days. These video tutorials were meant for tips, working in conjunction with the written pdf pattern available for download FREE at facebook.com/groups/yarnwars My apologies to those who have been working this pattern along with me without the actual pdf pattern. If you haven't downloaded the written pattern, please go to the link and download as this will probably be more helpful to you in making this, I will come back in here and post the head tutorial as soon as I finish, again, it will be a couple of days for me to film, process & upload to youtube, so please be patient with me. Thanks everyone for your interest and support!!

And buttons
@chaysiecrochet
@chaysiecrochet 10 жыл бұрын
I would think if you go to Walmart, or as I said, any craft store at all would have all of the add ons you need =) If you have a hard time finding the buttons though, I do have a section in the playlist that shows you how to make crochet buttons, and some people have just used black felt and cut round circles for the buttons. =)
