I was a cross country runner and track and field athlete for five years. I am also an nba elite fan n I can say that individual athlete is better than team sport coz you got nobody to blame except yourself and your execution! I only disagree with pay because of fan base etc!. NBA you can come back but in running especially in distance running against elite athletes, once they open the big gap is done! Once elite athletes let big gap open in running, you give the leaders motivation and you get demotivated cuz every step counts. Demotivated can’t beat motivated in elite athletes. But team sports, they know who fits where and they always make changes and change the outcome. The problem with mostly running events is that there is no enough fans because of the the distance. The difference comes with views n fan base. NBA, soccer, “football “ you can sit n watch the whole game but distance running mostly road racing distances is not possible but In future everything will change and the single goats will be appreciated more like the should. I know soccer players hates running a simple 2 mile distance nonstop but they will do a 10k run during the game!. The change we need is coming!
