Dental hygienist here, please read for an honest opinion of this product!!! Regardless of the dental office being open or not it’s never a good idea to take on a cleaning yourself if you aren’t trained. Brush twice a day, floss once a day, scrape your tongue, mouthwash daily to prevent buildup (an apple a day can keep calculus away too!) To break it down manual scraping is done methodically and with certain curved instruments, while a proper ultrasonic scaler uses WATER and strong vibrations + the knowledgeable strokes. With this tool you’re at risk of etching and grooving the enamel, which can cause sensitivity and more tartar afterwards. The calculus under the gums is not being removed (and shouldn’t be with this tool, I would never put this in my mouth nvm under the gums). There’s the potential for this device to heat up and burn the tissues (no water to offset vibrations and soothe tissues), as well as laceration/ trauma to the gums. Interdental buildup would not be removed, neither would anything in the back molars or inside surfaces due to lack of vision. There’s no way to 100% sterilize it, in all aspects you’re just making dental jobs harder. The stuff you leave behind is a hot spot for bacteria, making the calculus ‘burnished’ aka next to impossible to remove. If said calculus is under the gums and not dealt with, say hello to receding bone, perio disease, and tooth loss folks. Please be smart when buying things online, not everything can be a DIY

An apple a day will bring more tooth decay. From what? Sugar. Stay off sugar, and resort to Stevia, Monk fruit, Erythritol, and Xylitol. Dentists may know how to keep their customers, but aren't taught jack shit like most med school students today on what the body actually requires to self-heal, when it is in fact built to do so. Stay away from processed foods and fruit. The longer your food lasts, the shorter you will.

Today I received and tried the same electric teeth descaler and it works like a charm. At first I saw his point it being bullshit but with little experimentation on the angle at which you approach the tooth and how much pressure you apply on it it started showing results. The magic angles are about 40-60 degrees with as little pressure as possible so that the tip barely slides on the tooth's surface with max oscillation and without loosing rpm. He who has not thrown it away already shall try it anew with this in mind.

I don't think there is such a device that you place it on the teeth and plague fall off. Dentist would save a lot of time if there were one such invention. Probably hold it there for one hour, I think to shake it off. Ultrasonic merely weaken the structure for easy removal. You need to do some scraping effort like a toothpick.

I purchased a unit for 60 bucks and was very pleased as I havent gotten my teeth deep cleaned for over a year. I take care of my teeth pretty fervently, but I have one area where plaque spefically builds up. The descaler took care of it and made my mouth feel smoother and better in general especially at the gum line. Maybe your teeth are too clean😬

As a few people have commented, surely it would have been better to try it on visible plaque or tea/coffee/smoking stains to see if it removed them. You said I have no visible tartar, so it's not surprising none came off. Therefore I can't see how you can say it doesn't work!

Thanks for your comment, I agree I don't think this is my best review to date. I did try it on some staining I have but I think if the staining is more than surface deep, you are better off using a peroxide product on stains I think. I was hopeful as I've not been able to get to a dentist this year because they've not been accepting appointments because of Coronavirus that I would have something this could lift off but either I don't have a plaque build up or this product was not very good. Other people might get more mileage out of it but I would advise people to not waste money on it personally, I would rather people spent the money on seeing a dental professional than trying a home cleaning job.

Don't press it too hard, just barely touch the teeth and let the vibration do the work. I also hold it lightly on my nose, the vibrations seems to clear my sinuses, the vibrations could be producing nitric oxide, I think.

Mine looks just like that, only black. It does work. You notice it more if you are prone to build up and staining from smoking weed and cigarettes. My hygienist noticed my teeth were waaaay less stained my last appointment. Water flossers should also be used by everyone, they're pretty rad and you will see all kinds of neat stuff come out of your gums when you use one.

If you don’t have any calculus, you have nothing to remove, hence nothing to judge whether the device works as it should or not. The fact that it makes vibration noise against hard surfaces like I can hear in the video, means it has the capability of removing calcified debris. Such as a jack hammer breaks up concrete. .....that being said, just “how good” it is at removing calculus remains to be seen.

So it doesn't remove plaque because as you said, you don't HAVE plaque, because you have them professionally cleaned every 6 months. So basically the product did not solve a problem you didn't have. The dentist says I normally do have some calculus but I can never see it myself visibly, maybe it's under my gum line. When we're not in lock down I have hygienists appointments to have it removed. I thought maybe in lockdown this product could help but because what I have in the way of calculus most be so small this product was useless for me. if you wash your teeth morning and night and wash with water after each meals. There is no reason for you to see a dentist a few times a year. People dont wash their mouth after each meal which lead to many problems with their teeth.

So I bought this in a deal with a water flosser from the Smile company for £58 for the pair. Instructions in box not very helpful so I came to KZbin. Sceptical at first after watching this video, but after a 2 hour charge I decided to give it a go. At first it seems to do nothing, however with a little pressure, holding at an angle and also moving back and forth in a scraping manner does achieve great results! Plaque comes off in small chunks, tea and coffee stains rub off too. It takes some work to achieve the results and i tend to only use the higher setting but I can vouch that it works and will save you money rather than going to the dentist

I'm not that impressed with this review. If you review something to descale your teeth but you have nothing to descale or remove you can't possibly give a complete review. That it tickles isn't really a legit complaint since its vibrating and you have a lot of nerves in your teeth. Remove your nerves or the vibration and you'll be golden.

I was thinking it would remove plaque I couldn't really see as I don't really see that I have plaque before a dentist appointment but the dentist always says I have plaque and then proceeds to remove it.

My dentist normally finds some, I don't think I had any at the time of filming this. This product isn't great though. Your teeth health is worth more than putting a £15 product on them

Not everyone. I been using eletric oral b toothbrush forever and been flossing. It did not stop calcification on my teeth.
