Had mine for a little over a year and no problems, really like the unit. Glad you like yours.

You can easily convert this machine to Pilot Arc for about $20. There are videos online showing the conversion.
@replyhere590 Жыл бұрын
I bought the DP Gen 3 version and am a little cheesed, since the pigtail on it is 115, with a converter cord to go to a Nema 6-50, which is what your pigtail is. Makes little sense because I am informed that the #1 reason these cheaper units of various brands (and likely from 1 of very few Chinese "daddy" factories) fail is pushing them too hard on 115 instead of using them on 208-240. In fact some comments on them advise not using them at all on lower voltage. I like lots of things about mine so far but now I am really wondering about reliability. BTW, I do suggest pilot arc unless you are using it on a CNC table per what I have learned. And watch out for nearby flammable--I almost set a bunch of leaves on fire today in our driveway. FYI, I paid $260 for mine (2023 March). The version Crossthread has is less, maybe $220. And another FYI, I found that my Porter Cable pancake strains to provide enough air, too. I have others and will try them with it. Also, I am adding a separate water/oil separator to back up the included one--in fact I plan to make a short air hose up with a separator on each end. Messy air is a consumables Destroyer!

I honestly don't use mine that much, I need to remember to start firing it up. I'm just so used to going to the zip wheel

Yeah I ordered one and they sent me the GEN 3 model which is a little different like the cord and adapter is backwards and the gauges are different but it seems to work just fine, hope it last

I DID THE SAME THING, A STAINLESS STEEL CORKSCREW WENT THROUGH A FACE SHIELD AND THE SIDE PLASTIC OF MY GOGGLES WHEN I WAS USING AN INDUSTRIAL 440 VOLT PLASMA CUTTER I DID NOT LOSE MY EYE, GOOD PERTECTION IS A MUST, I AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT! GOOD SHOW THE CUTTER, THANK YOU MUCH!

I really hope this is just your camera set and you're not actually welding or plasma cutting on a wooden bench top right in front of a gas meter. Probably not given your sensible attitude towards PPE but one never knows.

Great review thank you! I'm ready to buy one of these, but I have a question on the consumables. Is AG-60 and AG60P the same thing? Stupid question I know, but would like not to waste $30 on consumables before hand. :) Newbie ...

What compressor are you using with this cutter? How many gallons and what CFM?
@crossthreadgarage Жыл бұрын
I only have a 17 gallon 5cfm compressor, it's really not enough, but has worked ok for me so far.

Its just as important to use a respirator as it is eye protection. The fumes and gases created when plasma cutting are deadly, especially in enclosed spaces. A few bucks on a respirator and some P100 particulate filters can save a bunch of future problems

Thank you for that information

220 you'll definitely get a cleaner cut and can cut thicker metal.

I seen a funny Swedish guy exsplain hook a wire to end metal part on top. And run it to ground. And then you have your. Ark. Pilot ark. It’s cheap. Do it. Lol
