(Note: Some of the following cards are from the Legacy Packs. You can't dismantle cards you get _from_ Legacy Packs, but you can dismantle any _crafted_ Legacy Pack cards, so if you somehow pull 1 or more from the 3900+ cards, you can always dismantle the ones you've made) - Metal Reflect Slime (Normal Rarity) is continuous trap-monster with a great big booty that's hard for opponents to immediately get over with 3000 DEF that can be summoned for free. Thunder of Ruler (Normal Rarity) is a normal trap that blanks your opponent's Battle Phase for one turn. The only difference between it and Threatening Roar (Super Rare) is that you have to activate it during the Standby Phase. Mother Grizzly/Shining Angel/UFO Turtle/Flying Kamakiri #1/Mystic Tomato/Giant Rat/Nova Summoner/Masked Dragon (Normal Rarity) are all cards that thin out the deck and summon another 1500 ATK or less monster to the field and can have some great synergies. For instance, Shining Angel can seek out and summon Maiden With Eyes of Blue (Rare) to facilitate summoning Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Giant Rat can go into Planet Pathfinder (Rare) which, incidentally, is a great alternative to Terraforming/Metaverse. Nova Summoner and Masked Dragon are also great for Fairy/Dragon-focused Decks respectively. Sangan (Rare), similarly to the above cards, lets you seek out cards with 1500 or less ATK without risking their destruction such as the aforementioned Planet Pathfinder if you're willing to give up a turn's Normal Summon for it. Powercode Talker (Normal Rarity) is a link 3 that requires 3 monsters (so you unfortunately can't go into it with a link 2 and another monster) but it also can be summoned with tokens. It's got 2300 ATK, can negate an opponent's monster effect until the End Phase during your turn, can power up temporarily by tributing a monster it points to, and has no arrows pointing toward opposing monster zones. Not the best, but worth considering. Number 82: Heartlandraco (Normal Rarity) is a criminally low-rarity generic rank 4 XYZ with 2000 ATK that can attack your opponent directly at the cost of being the only monster allowed to attack and detaching a material. Considering plenty of players use Gustav Max (Ultra Rare)/Gagaga Cowboy (Ultra Rare) to burn players for their last bit of LP, having a normal rarity card do the same thing (albeit, again, by giving up the battle phase for anything other than it) is not a bad trade-off. Especially since it can't be attacked if you have a face-up Spell card on the field. Number 70: Malevolent Sin (Normal Rarity) is, without exaggeration, one of the best generic 2 material Rank 4 XYZs despite being only one of a handful that are not considered "Rare." It has 2400 ATK 1200 DEF, (one the highest ATK stat of any generic rank 4 XYZ with an effect even among Rares), but it's its _effects_ that put it over the top: You can detach a material to banish an opponent's monster so that you can attack directly or avoid a Battle Phase effect. But the *real* kicker is its secondary effect that gives it PERMANENT 300 ATK increase if it attacked, giving it 2700 ATK, stronger than Gem Knight Pearl after one attack. Compare that to "rare" cards like Number 44: Sky Pegesus which has a pathetic 1800/1600 and has an effect to destroy 1 of your opponent's face-up monsters... unless they choose to pay 1000 LP in which case nothing will happen... As if all that weren't great already, if you manage to attack twice and use its effect to become rank 10 you can auto-rank-up into Number 84: Pain Gainer (Normal rarity), then rank up _again_ into Number 77: The Seven Sins (Rare) which has a STAGGERING *4000 ATK 3000 DEF,* and if you manage to keep it on the field long enough for the turn to cycle back to you, you can detach 2 materials (using the rank up methods it will have FOUR) which *BANISHES* (not destroys so it bypasses destruction protection effects) ALL Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls and attaches 1 as a material, meaning you could theoretically activate the effect 3 times! As if all that weren't insane enough, it also has built-in protection against destruction via battle/card effects by detaching a material any time it would be destroyed. Codebreaker Virus Swordsman (Rare) is the strongest Link 1/2 monster in the Normal/Rare category at a whopping 2300 ATK (the same as the Link *_3_* in the video, it's not difficult to summon (any two effect monsters), it has an arrow pointing downward to facilitate further Link summoning right off the bat, and on top of all that, if your opponent destroys it (battle *OR* card effect) it can summon itself from the graveyard during the End Phase (though it will be banished afterward). Judgement of Anubis (Rare) is a personal favorite of mine and has several beneficial qualities. You might be wondering what good this card is when all it does is stop Spells from destroying Spell/Trap cards. Well... 1) it's not a Super Rare like Starlight Road. 2) Dust Tornado and Heavy Storm Duster (Traps) aren't nearly as favored by players as Mystical Space Typhoon or Twin Twister. 3) Just look at all the other destructive spell cards like Cosmic Cyclone or the ubiquitous Harpie's Feather Duster. 4) It's a Counter-Trap, so even if you're facing off against a Toadally Awesome or that whore Dragonmaid Omni-negate card you're pretty much guaranteed to negate the Spell because almost *NO ONE* uses counter traps 5) Best of all, when the effect resolves, you can destroy an opponent's face-up monster *AND* inflict damage to them and *ONLY* them equal to its current ATK Ring of Destruction-style.

(Making a separate comment for budget Blue-Eyes synergistic cards because the other comment's already long) Keeper of the Shrine (Normal Rarity) is a solid 2100 DEF defender that can be summoned off of Masked Dragon, counts as two tributes for a Dragon-Type tribute summon, comes back from the graveyard for free any time a Dragon-Type is destroyed (by battle *OR* card effect, and the effect can even activate in your hand), and best of all, if it was a Normal Dragon, you can get that Dragon back from the Graveyard to your hand for FREE. The cherry on top is that the effects are all *OPTIONAL,* so if you're under Maxx C and don't want to bring it back right away, or you want to use Silver's Cry to bring back your Blue-Eyes, you can just choose not to use the effects! Successor Soul (Rare) and Majesty With Eyes of Blue (Normal) are Quick-Play spells that can summon/get Blue-Eyes White Dragon in the graveyard respectively. The former requires you to send an effect monster to the Graveyard and will do the same against an opposing monster, while the latter prevents a monster from attacking but can also be used to target Maiden With Eyes of Blue to trigger her effect. The Ultimate Creature of Destruction (Normal) is a trap card that can protect a Blue-Eyes monster from being destroyed by battle, make it unaffected by card effects, and will destroy opposing monsters that it battles via the effect, making it good both offensively and defensively. Sky Striker Airspace - Area Zero (rare)/Mausoleum of White (Normal) are field Spell Cards that have their pros and cons. Mausoleum can power up your monsters if you happen to use a lot of normal monsters like Luster Dragon, Alexandrite Dragon ((Rare) 2000 ATK), etc. in addition to Blue-Eyes White Dragon. It also lets you summon the "of White" tuners as an extra summon. However, in my experience, in addition to not running other Normal monsters, I only really used the effect on the Maiden to bring out Blue-Eyes, which is why I personally use the Sky Striker Field Spell card. Why? Because it can target the Maiden and trigger her effect for free regardless of what's in my deck, and as long as you don't have any cards it can search for, the Maiden will stay on the field! Maiden With Eyes of Blue (Rare) is a card I've mentioned a lot for good reason, it's a 0 ATK 0 DEF level 1 monster that summons a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from the hand, graveyard, and even straight from the DECK if it's ever targeted for an effect or for an attack. And when it's attacked, it negates the attack and changes its battle position, so if it's in attack mode, it will go into defense if your opponent has more than 1 monster attacking. This makes it *vastly* superior to the White Stone of Legend (rare) that's also a level 1 tuner, albeit one that can be summoned off of Masked Dragon. Chaos Form (Rare Ritual Spell), Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon (Rare Ritual Monster), and Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands (Normal rarity Lv 4 monster) are also good low rarity inclusions. Manju lets you seek out *EITHER* the Ritual Spell or monster making it superior to the monsters you get from solo duels, Chaos Dragon has the same built-in protections as Chaos Max at the cost of 1000 ATK, but can also change your opponent's battle positions and permanantly reduce their ATK and DEF to 0 if summoned using Blue-Eyes White Dragon as the tribute cost. Which, between Keeper of the Shrine and Shining Angel summoning Maiden should be easy to accomplish.

Want to throw in a super rare: If you can’t get the points necessary for strike or judgment you can always play warning instead, they aren’t too different from each other and I’ve noticed that super rate points tend to be left over a lot so you’ll probably have enough for at least 1-2 copies

never heard of popperup before! the card seems absolutely crazy and its weird i have never seen it played even in gy reliant decks, thanks for the vid!

No problem, Popperup is one of the coolest underutilized cards imo and I'd love to see people mess around with it more :)

I actually didn't know there was a Kaiju that was a lower rarity than Kumongous. Their attack is a little higher but that's not usually relevant.

If your struggling Vs hand traps you can use parallel exceed to make traptrix rafflesia which can activate gravediggers trap hole from deck to negate any monster eff from hand or grave and deal 2000 DMG. You could also make it for other trap holes like bottomless and floodgate I guess
@luminous35582 жыл бұрын
If you want a cheap gimmick card to run test out Witch's strike. Its a trap with massive blow out potential at just N rarity.

love that popperup is getting some love! i'm actually using it in striker with dark world dealings for now. would love to actually see popperup used in an actual performapal/odd-eyes deck someday lol

Yeah ironically I haven't seen it used in that deck yet, but it's cool to see in Eldlich builds as well as SPYRAL (the ones I've seen it used most often)

I've been playing a lot of Time Thief Lunalights on Master Duel using your list as a skeleton and I've been having a lot of fun and success. It's been one of my favorite decks for a while and I'm so happy to see tenki and tiger back to 3 in this format. I thought I remembered you saying in a previous video that you were going to mess around with Lunalight Lyrilusc and I thought that sounded very interesting. I was just wondering if you were planning on making a video on that anytime soon, or if you planned on updating your timethief lunalight list with some higher rarity upgrades
@SirEmanon3 жыл бұрын
Lunalight Lyrilusc 0.o Don't remember mentioning that one haha, although it might be because both decks can use the Tri-Brigade engine, and I did intend on playing Tri-Brigade Lunalight pretty soon. I may also revisit Time Thief Lunalight once I work on upgrading my generic card pool more :)

Are there any budget replacement for Called by the Grave? also you not talked about Fiendish Chain, you skipped it
@SirEmanon3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I mentioned it with Chalice/Lost Wind that they're functionally all just effect negation cards. Called by doesn't really have replacements that do the same thing it does to be honest, you're just better off trying to run generally good staples that suit your deck's needs.

unfortunally parallel exceed cant chain block currently because ocg rules work differently. so while its still a good card, i wouldn't recommend it for prank kids to chain block your kids.
@SirEmanon3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, definitely not worth for just chain blocking, but it's good in other decks like Traptrix and the like for just enabling general rank 4 plays

Honestly this game is so f2p that only ultra rares take some time to make, super rares are very easy to make
