It was a delight watching the video ... love the color choice and accents (black and red). One of those types of videos you watch from beginning to end -- anticipating what the final product will look like. Great build, I totally understand your parts choices based on limited availability. I hate to jump on the band wagon but I'd definitely switch out the seat post clamp. The QR clamp is just asking for an accidental overtighten on that carbon frame.

I worked as a mechanic for a start up bike company and we sourced our frames from Taiwan and it works like this: Chinese or Taiwanese manufacturers buy licences for the outgoing frame designs of leading brands so they don't have to spend on research and development or they manufactured the frames for the brand in the first place and get permission to sell it to third parties. So it could be the same frame.

subscribed! came from your fuji channel. this video is almost asmr like. haha that first part when you said affordable, I was like oh yea? check the price tag on that frame... nearly choked. That electric bike I got from costco was like 400 bucks to just ride to the beach. But I get it, high end stuff are expensive, my kayak is almost 3K and for someone who goes to the local harbor to rent one for $15 dollar an hour that price is outrageous.

Hey Dan! Haha. Yeah I can't believe how expensive it is. I used to race twenty years ago, but then just didn't do much mountain biking for the last fifteen or so. Then all the sudden my kids all get into it and bike prices have become astronomical. Had to look up the OnOne Scandal. Looks awesome!

I wonder why ec90 seat post. Just for carbon-look? In the end, it's a full suspension bike so the seat post isn't for vibration reduction. It's hard for me to explain picking up this quite expensive part.
@HobbyAddict4 жыл бұрын
I will prefer seat drop for 100%
@colbyscott98223 жыл бұрын
Couple of questions.... 1. Why did you use carbon paste on aluminum to aluminum steerer/stem but not on the carbon seat post? 2. Why an expansion plug instead of a star nut (unless you just wanted the option to remove it)? 3. Why didn't you install the preload nut on the crank? Also, I saw several instance where you used the torque wrench but kept turning the wrench after the click. Be careful about that. You an easily over torque things and damage the threads.
