Bought two of these. They worked for a few batches but now gotta hold them at a weird angle for them to work.

Would this pump be capable of pumping say olive oil that would be heated to say 130 degree's? Wanting something like this to infuse my oils for salves. Thanks for the idea.

How do you know parts of pump touching wort are food grade?
@MrDavesbox12 жыл бұрын
not an issue at this stage of distillation

@@MrDavesbox1bacteria will be boiled to death but poisons will not, however it's so small I can't imagine it'd be too bad

Can you send links for the pump and dimmer??? Amazon Model only rated at 135 Deg. I mash at 152 Deg.
I wanna say the information when I posted was different, but I could be wrong. On one of the question threads it appears a Bayite rep answers 212 f for circulating, but can't be immersed over 122 f Either way, I've used it many many times with no issues at all. And yes, I too mash in at Temps of 152.

@@MrFoo33 that’s fantastic. Got 1 on order

Got the same pump.. Gonna use it on my next few batches to go from kettle to mashtun so I'm not pouring heavy not fluid. Gonna use the Pro Flo camlocks it so it " hangs off the kettle. Hows it holding up?
@MrFoo336 жыл бұрын
It's holding up really well. I've had really hot wort going through it, and really cold water for cooling the wort down post boil.. Still going strong!

How hot have you run the wort through the pump? Have you run it at boiling point? when you are ready to chill the wort? 212 Fahrenheit ?

When using it for beer making you only have to use a pump until 78°Celsius. Then you can cut off your pump. Making the sparge and start with the boiling cycle

I like that. How is it going with this pump? Also is there beer making videos coming? Good video, I subbed :)

sweet video, but what's up with your valve handle lol. how does it handle the heat?
@MrFoo334 жыл бұрын
Ha! The handle might have lost a battle with my propane burner... As far as heat it's great at handling it, but it's not meant for boiling Temps. I only use it for recirculation of mash. The highest temp it's probably handled for me is 180-190?

Hi how much is working temperature of this pump?? Can it take upto 102 deg Celsius
@MrFoo334 жыл бұрын
No. It's not rated for boiling temp.

"Max circulating water temperature: 100°C/212°F. It's submersible but can't be immersed in hot water exceeding 50°C/122℉ " This is from the description on AMazon

I have read that this one clogs when running wort. Have you had any problems?
@MrFoo335 жыл бұрын
Nope. No problems at all.

Those pumps are a great idea but they don't last. I went through two of them so I decided to purchase an Anvil pump for $69.00 in Amazon problem solved.

nice one, is the pump itself food safe?

Here's the link on Amazon. I didn't read that it was, but in the description it says about cleaning it after using it for wort... bayite BYT-7A015 DC 12V Solar Hot Water Heater Circulation Pump with DC Power Supply Adapter Low Noise 3M Head 8LPM 2.1GPM www.amazon.com/dp/B01G305PK0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_05J6Bb5MX51ZQ

No, it's not. Since it doesn't say so in any description I've read so far I would say no. I personally wouldn't use this one.
@istvanmihaly4 жыл бұрын
@@henrik747 There is the point, you are right. You never know what kind of grease or oil did they use when the pump was assembled, or what kind of regulations did they follow in the factory. For food, food grade stuff is mandatory IMO. Maybe that stuff what gets into connection with the hot liquid has no effect for the solar hot water circulating system, but maybe it is not good for your health.
@henrik7474 жыл бұрын
@@istvanmihaly If it was food safe it would had said so somewhere in the description because it's a selling point. This pump is not for drinking fluids, it's for solar panels. People should be more careful out there. I see this all the time on the moonshining forums as well. It's galvanized or brass couplings, bad plastics and so on.
@MrDavesbox12 жыл бұрын
i wonder if it will handle hot water?
@dougphillips2394 ай бұрын
Yes if you get the one made for solar pumping. Also used for caravan hot water. Best fittings to use are from the ends of a braided hose - these do not need sealing tape.
