Datsun 260Z 2 seat, when I was poor I had one I reassembled from boxes, previous owner took it ALL to bits to redo it. So much work to rust cure and make a great runner. Kept it for years but later felt I wasn't doing right by the car so sold it to someone with the money to finish it nice. I now have the time and money but my car is being driven by another.

Love the little Fiat, I have run two air cooled 126's and a BIS. For me the BIS was a much better and usable car with the rear hatch, a much better engine which was more reliable and a little bit more powerful. Hey really like this channel. Kids have flown the coup (finally!) So the wife reminds me how car crazy I was, before the kids. Yeah long story short. Been looking around for a classic entry back into cars! Your channel is packed full of mandatory info, I need to almost relearn. It's been over 25 years. You know how it is 1, 2 next minute 4 kids, your life changes (I could easily say more ha, ha) Back then we had heaps of friends in a number of car clubs. I'm really looking forward to tinkering or full resto. Thanks again.

I had a W109 (?), in American market 300SEL 4.5 sedan, 1972. A solid California garage queen that had a fuel line fire, under the warped bonnet. "I'll fix it up and sell it for a pile & return to Paradise, (Hawaii). I think I sold it for what I initially paid for the written off car. Had wrenched on an MGB before and the solid "Feel" of the hardware & materials was a revelation, even with regard to U.S. classics, DeSoto S-15, Mercury Park Lane &c. Fell in love with the cheap runabout stopgap, Toyota RT-43.

Even though I am American, I've always looked at English cars fondly. This is probably because I was driven around in an Austin-Healey 3000 Mk. III by a good friend of mine as a child. This is what got me into classic cars in the first place and now I'm proud to say that I own a Studebaker! Anyway, in terms of my favorite English car, I would have to go for the BMC "Farina saloons". Specifically the Wolseley 15/60. You can buy those in mint condition for under $10,000 American all day long and they just look the business! Cheers to you for a great video!

Any classic car bought in the U.K. for under £3,000. will in most cases need at least that amount spent on it by way of repairs. It makes far more sense to buy a Japanese import for say £6,000. Japan is a much drier country and salt is not put on the roads. Many cars are garaged unused for many years due to stringent ever increasing pollution laws which (unlike the U.K.) act retrospectively. To put matters into perspective I have recently purchased an immaculate 1999 Vauxhall Vectra CDX estate, with only 11k miles, for £6,000. (includes all outgoings).

Interesting choices - was expecting something a bit more 80s than these. The 126 is a great little classic car - Mat at CarWow bought one, and did a great review on it - they’re superb little city cars. The Merc W123 though, I wouldn’t consider - having followed the resto job on Furious Driving, the fuelling system and rust issues would make it an expensive car to keep going in my opinion. The Spitfire is a great little classic - if however you can find one that hasn’t dissolved on someone’s driveway!

He actually told me he had travelled on a section of dual carriageway at 20mph that morning so the underside didn't get wet! I tried explaining to him it made no difference whatsoever if the underside got wet as it would do no harm. He couldn't understand his wrong doing when the police pulled him and fined him. They drove behind him for several miles to make sure he drove much quicker. I even tried telling him 99.99% would admire the bodywork and no one is interested under neath the car but to no avail.. 🤣

No rust hardly at all on it other than inside bottom door panels. It has few miles on it but I chose to put an Oscelli Engish engine in it. Took the car completely apart and it's about back together now and like a new car but better. Coated the wheel wells with a durable substance, etc But I'd like to see a Morgan or one of the big Heilys restored in a video. Thx

Merc W123 Odometers Stop or Fail Due to NUMEROUS REPEAT WINDING BACK of the Mileage. remember in the 70's 80's 90's The MAJORITY of cars had their Mileage Wound Back Each time they were sold. Common Practice on 90% of all Cars sold. a W123 with 150,000 on the clock can be wound back to Zero & do another 200,000 Easily & Still be in Mint Condition. W123's Were Bought by Businesses as company cars Hence they All Went to the MOON & Back. The Same with BMW's. A BMW Drivers seat should be Mint / Unused at 150,000 miles. even 200,000 miles there should be ZERO Wear. A 200,000 mile Bmw seat should be EXACTLY As per a 20,000 mile seat.
