Ooh I can’t wait to see you with your new highlights!!!! I use purple shampoo once a week it’s actually the purple shampoo from Not your Mothers it’s called Blonde moment. It brightens my highlights up every single time. I only wash my hair on Saturday’s so I always use it then. First I use a regular ol shampoo to wash my hair, to get the weeks worth of product out, to make way for the purple shampoo to do it’s job. Then I put the purple shampoo on second leaving it in for like 2 minutes to absorb. Then I use conditioner. My hair looks so much blonder every Saturday. I was in Sally’s beauty this week and picked up a product from Clairol from their blonde line shimmer lights. It’s a purple leave in that you apply to wet hair and leave in. That’s kinda cool to leave it in where with the shampoo you obviously have to wash it out. I haven’t used it yet. I think tomorrow I’m going to see if Sally’s sells a dry shampoo for blondes that leaves a brightener on the hair. I think that could be useful for an overall blonde effect too.

I am going to try using the purple conditioner daily and see if it does anything. I got the toner done Thursday, my hair looked darker and today (Monday) it's back to how it looked before I went. Oh well. Story of my life, lol. This is exactly why I stopped going to salons for my coloring. I always throw my money away, my hair color never looks different after.

Your hair looks really fantastic! If you liked the Garnier Fructis Curl Mousse, you have to try the Garnier Fructis Conditioning Cream Gel. I have tried both the cream gel and the mousse and I like the cream the best. We both like styling creams the best, so I think you’ll like this, too. (Anxious to see your new highlights.)

Your hair came out pretty. I’ve had Male hairdressers who did awesome cuts in the past. Please share if you decide to try him out. I wonder what he thought of the cut you just got?? As for dry hair, I’ve seen many videos from hairdressers saying how washing everyday is not good for your hair. You have to allow your natural oils to absorb into your hair. P.S. I also have more of a wave in the back of my head. I wish my curls/waves were just all uniform. 🙅‍♀️

That's so true! I "wash" my hair, meaning use shampoo, once every couple of weeks. I do condition daily though.

I know you've tried a lot of products & that you usually don't like gels, but have you tried the Garnier Frutice Curl Shape Defining Spray Gel? I've also tried a number of different products. I do find that this works wonders for my thick, course, dry, frizzy wavy/curly hair. So far, it's the only think I've tried that really redefines my curl & after SOTC, my hair is the softness it's ever been & frizz free! I was almost on the verge of giving up on my hair & getting it cut shortI don't know if it's curly girl approved, but I don't really follow it anyway.

@@DebNYCurl I mainly used the spray defining gel for my 2nd day refresh. I just rewet my hair, apply the GF Curl Shape Spray Gel, run the wet dry through my hair, lightly scrunch my hair & diffuse. It's so good that that I can get away with a 3rd day refresh & w/o having to reapply the spray gel. I do the same thing for the 2nd day refresh, but not needing to reapply the product! I was never one to like to fresh either, but this spray gel changes that for me.

Have you tried Cake's Curl Whip mousse? I love using mousse for hold and I don't find it as sticky as others. Tell your daughter to try some dry shampoo! I've used Tresemme, which was always a staple and now I'm using Not Your Mother's (fragrance free). Dry shampoos can be very smelly and you need to have good ventilation. But this NYM one is better with smell. They make them for dark hair too because it can leave a white film (think powder) - I usually shake it out and it's fine. Just be sure keep the dry shampoo to the root area next you don't want to dry out the strands. It was a life changer for me!

You always review and try curly hair styling products on camera, but never shampoo/conditioner...unless I missed it?

I did one video a while ago on conditioners to see if I noticed a difference. I didn't. I do have my favorites though (OGX being one of them). I think it's hard to review only because I do have to use product to style my hair so I wonder at that point how can I tell if a shampoo and conditioner work but I'll do a video soon.
