Would help if you added links to the material used in construction such as helmet, comms, muffs, etc. Thanks for the video.

Good video although, are you sure those bolts don't go into your head on a bad impact? The external vents on my unmodified helmet scared me pretty bad when I had my Honda GL1800 Goldwing land on me at 40MPH. The foam won't stop whatever bolt that's there. Would you suggest a rubber cap or something? Just saying...

I didn't like the look of the bolts either. Would nylon fasters be safer?
@GerrysDiy4 жыл бұрын
Hi personalised Computers. Although there is about 15mm of foam over the bolts I could fill the hole in the foam with silicone or similar. The ear defenders have to be really tight. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry👍

@GerrysDiy could you link the peltor ear defenders? and other hardware used?

Where did you get the ear muffs with the comms built-in? Or did you do the integration yourself? I'm interested in that part of the build the most.

Great work Gerry, I am planning to do something similar. Wich ear defenders did you use? I am looking for ones that have bluetooth + ANC built in

Looks like it should work. IMHO much more important than making it pretty.

Hi OLdMysticFantasist. After a few days of flying I went back at the helmet and sanded the foam. Looked well with the gopro and acessories bolted to it. Cheap setup but worked great. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry👍

Great vid, Gerry! I don’t paramotor but it looks so cool I want to make one. Greetings from Minnesota!

Hello Midnights & Mornings and hello Minnesota. The helmet worked out great in the air and worked well with a gopro and battery bank. Comms worked well with the phone but I need to do some work to get it going with the walkie talkies. Thanks for commenting. Cheers Gerry👍👍

I guess that is a Lidl helmet Gerry? Where out of curiosity do you fly as this sport looks like something i would very much enjoy.

Hi Leonard. Yes Lidl was the source for the helmet. I fly in Wexford mostly and when flying paragliders only I fly mt Leinster quite a lot. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry👍

Hi Gerry, Nice job! Doesn't look like you hacked it up with an angle grinder. I don't paramotor but if given the choice between 20€ and a little work or 300+€ already made, I'd go for the 20. I wonder if you could fill in behind the nuts with silicone sealer or similar to give some extra cushion. It doesn't seem like there's much between the nut and your head! Thanks for the video. -mike

Hi goptools. There is room to fill with silicone or similar in the foam. The foam is about 25mm thick and the bolt is about 10mm inside the helmet. It could accommodate about 15mm on top of the bolt which would help in an accident. I flew this helmet that morning and the next couple of days after too. Worked very well but I lost the audio files on the videos unfortunately. More Diy stuff soon. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry 👍

You keep mentioning $20 for the helmet. How much did you pay for the ear muffs with blue tooth? Good to know for people who are getting into the hobby. Thank you.

So, really cheap if you already own the bloody expensive bluetooth, noise-cancelling ear protection ;P
