Cheap Eats Manila: Mongkok Dimsum and Noodles Glorietta Makati. Mongkok Dimsum & Noodles is a mid-priced Chinese restaurant chain specializing in scrumptious Hong Kong style dim sum, noodles, congee, rice toppings and other specialties. Since opening their first branch in Libis Quezon City in 1998 they are now 10 branches in Luzon, today we visit their branch in Glorietta Makati. What makes this chain so successful? Well they seen to do something right - Cantonese comfort food at very affordable prices. Highly recommended from their menu are the Asparagus with Garlic, Hot & Sour Soup, Hong Kong style noodles, Pork With Century Egg Congee, Steamed shrimp dumplings, Spareribs with Taosi, Cantonese Chow Mein and Yangchow Fried Rice. For main courses try their shrimp with broccoli, shrimp with radish cake, salt and pepper squid, and beef with ampalaya. For dessert black jelly with lychee!
