I bought the Kmise (K-mees I think) and was super impressed for such an inexpensive ukulele. It arrived almost in tune and it is loud, clear and resonant. Just a little touch up to the tuning and I was sure I made a good investment for my granddaughter. Mine came with a gig bag, electronic tuner, stap, instruction booklet and an extra set of strings. I’m getting older now and giving away my extra ukes to my grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Eventually Rory will get my Martin soprano but it is hard to tune so for now she gets the Kmise. I must say I am delighted with it and wouldn’t have considered it but for this video. Thanks for sharing.

Bought a 20 dollar Glarry. Even cheaper. Your review was close to my experience. My buddy lowered the nut, changed the strings to Slinky’s and then replaced the tuner with some really old banjo tuners. The original holes were really drilled badly and the tuners moved and pivoted constantly. It couldn’t hold a tune for half a song. Now it sounds great, holds a tune and is both bright and deep. I was going to replace it but until the bridge blows apart, I’ll enjoy this one.

What I ended up doing to mine was I took a nail and cut off the head of the nail and the point......I used the rest of the nail under the strings as if it was the saddle I placed it behind the actually saddle. ( the reason) my Glarry played sharp and the intonation was nowhere near correct. By moving back the saddle contact point It fixed the intonation and now it plays in tune all over the neck. For $25 they are so much fun and really a good value!! And they sound good!!

Uke gotta be kidding! ;) Sorry, had to be done! The $45 uke sounds like a banjo. I had a nice solid wood Uke when I was a boy, but before I got to enjoy it, my brother ended up enjoying first when Mum smashed it over his back!! LOL! True story! LOL!! Mum was a sweet little lady, but do NOT mess with her, or she becomes Samsquanch! LOL!! Jack - Canada

I have one of these kmise spruce top concert ukuleles I paid about £35 complete with a decent padded gig bag and free delivery. Mine sounds great I was well impressed with it. This is a very good and honest review. I put some fluorocarbon strings on it and wow what an improvement . The finish on mine looks to be better than on Whips.

I have also bought lots of ukuleles - and found a lot of unknown brands that made decent ukuleles with a set up. Don't judge by the brand - most brands are just distributors and many of the worlds ukuleles are made in the same 10-12 factories. I've seen identical ukuleles with different logos on the headstocks. It is more important to judge by wood, parts, and craftsmanship or build quality. There are a lot of unknown brand (or even no brand) ukes that are made with decent woods, have rosewood fretboards and bone parts, that can be made into good playing ukes with a decent set up.

Try the Kmise Mahogany Concerts. I bought one off Amazon as a student kit - gig bag, strap, tuner, and spare set of strings and ukulele for just under 40 GBP. It's sweet spot for strumming is just 3 frets up from the sound hole. Nice.

Don't play it much any more. Any way, it's amazing what 20 bucks more gets you, eh? PS that uke jingle you played should be your intro theme. :p

Use a brown crayon for the bare spot. TAH DAAAAH! Harrison and McCartney loved ukes, especially George. Tom Petty told a story about George coming over to his place to work on new Willbury songs. He asks Petty to come outside, and in his trunk there's about 12 ukes! I guess he went on a Uke tangent for a while there. Anyway George did give Tom one of them. He was dying to play it...with George...my bad...I'm so ashamed...sigh Jack - Canada Jack

Actually Dan Ealywine , a famous guitar repair guru talks about doing touch ups with magic markers.
@bronzesnake7004
@bronzesnake7004 6 жыл бұрын
Magic markers sound good also! I used to be a carpenter, rough carpenter, framer etc. I was also a cabinet maker, and I worked for my closest friend building custom cabinets, shelving, libraries, wall panels etc etc, for many years. Making, sanding, sanding, more sanding, and installing crown molding is the world's most effective sedative! I took a week off when I was ill, and during that week my friend did a custom library room, and wall paneling from floor to ceiling at Ann Murray's mansion. He said she was the very best customer he ever had. Never complained, and she had a very clear idea of exactly what she wanted, which makes things o much easier. Trying to create someone elses vision can be tricky to say the least. But we used crayons all the time on small chips and anomalies. Worked great! That was about twenty or more years ago. There's all kind of products out there today which are basically crayons for a mere 500% mark up! ;) Jack - Canada

So, I really want this white Glarry ukulele because it's affordable and because I wanna paint some sunflowers on it. I'm new at this whole ukulele thing. I've been playing my brother's Mahalo uke for about 2 months. Is it being so cheap a dead giveaway for a crappy ukulele? Will the 19 dollars I pay for the ukelele grow a lot more as I have to replace the strings? Would really like some guidence :)

Intonation.....I actually put a make shift saddle BEHIND the actual saddle. it was so sharp. I used a small piece of metal rod about the size of a nail....the string tension and the actual saddle holds it in place. The intonation sucked out of the box.
