13:33 Love the futuristic and space-age interiors this hotel has. Oh, and it was good to see the new Kone DX MonoSpaces (and NanoSpace) as well. Those looked very nice and modern (Kone always excels in design in my opinion) That said though, honestly both Sunny Beach and Golden Sands felt not that interesting compared to Benidorm and Lanzarote and the like. Regardless though nice video Ben! Keep doing these cheap flight adventures - especially to lesser-known places like you have done before. That's a good niche you are filling on KZbin in my opinion. Plus, it is also interesting seeing the various lifts across the globe - especially those local to the region (except generics though, of course).

@06:59 my hotel room's toilet in Sofia, at Vasil Levski Square just a few blocks from the St. Kliment Ohridski university and the Aleksandr Nevsky cathedral, had a similar setup. The shower did not have a curtain. The same hotel, years later, was demolished, and rebuilt as a Hyatt Regency, hotel rooms about 150 pound per night, talk about gentrified!

Maybe the hotels close because they wont make huge profits during non summer months, people will rather spend a holiday in more popular desitnations during these months.

The hotel I stayed in only had me and one other person staying there. They decided to keep it open despite very few customers.

@@benolifts Maybe that is why other hotels close since they barely get customers past the end of September although it is still nice and warm. I wouldn’t think many people would go to Bulgaria for a holiday during these months except maybe a few Bulgarians, so it wouldn’t get packed like in the summer months therefore probably losing profits.

I am surprised the hotels don't get trashed over winter. If this was the UK, having a hotel shut for 7 months would lead to squatters and teenagers smashing the place up and treating it as if it was abandoned.

How easy is it to sneak inside a hotel without being caught?

It may still be warm but how many people would actually travel to a place like this at this time of the year?

People go to Benidorm, Lanzarote and Tenerife all year.

There is no way that elevator would be legal here in Australia (and probably not in the UK for that matter)

At 10:22 is it just me or the lift uses one of those cheap Xinda motors?

Looks like they never finished construction of that hotel. Quite common in Brazil, and I guess all other "poorer" countries
