Hey Chad the front was chose so that it didnt affect day to day driving , also being ifs in the front your more likely to lift a wheel then in the rear so it just gives you more traction Only down fall I when in 4wd it is harder to steer but still fine

Hey Jared he's sold the hilux now and buying a Np300 But it Completely changed the drive offroad and made it alot more capable however when in 4wd harder to steer that was the only real negative to it but Definitely worth putting up with for how much better it was in flexing situations On road in 2wd it handled exactly the same as before was definitely worth the investment

Hey Fahrul it is safe as whilst driving, when not engaged in 4wd it doesnt do anything or effect the vehicle at all however when you lock it into 4wd it is heavier on steering

Yes the rag under the socket did make me cringe. I’ve been thinking about one of these and wasn’t sure if to do it at home or at work. Obviously in a workshop is the best option. You guys did well tho. Is it completely noise free in the front in 2wd? I thought the ADD only disconnected the drive shaft which would have the diff always turning between the front axles. There’s heaps of good reviews for these in 4wd but I don’t want to be clunking around in 2wd constantly.

Is this N70 running a 2 inch lift with 1 inch strut spacers? if so do you have any issues with it and did you do a diff drop and or extend bumb stops? cheers. good videos too guys keep it up.

Cheers mate Its running 2" Hd coils in the front and yeah 1" strut spacers As far as diff drop its running a cheap ebay 1"diff drop kit that's the spacers u see in between the lower diff mounts and the cross member in the video Nothing has been done to bump stops that I no off

Why did you choose this over a air locker or e- locker? Because it’s cheaper? How is it when turning and general driving?

I went with the auto lokka cause of price and its just to get me out if I get bogged dont do too much 4x4ing . Only engaged in 4x4 drives like normal just abit heavier on the steering its changed the capability of the car completely

I think value for money is way to good to go pass for how well it performed for Michael yesterday on the test run, as he said it only engages when in 4wd so it doesn't effect daily driving at all, highly recommend getting one will be installing one in my old boys for sure , I wouldn't recommend one of these in the rear diff however as that would be hard to handle on wet roads and car parks. I ran a truetrac lsd in the rear of my n70 when I had one and it worked great offroad and daily driving

Hey mate when 4x4 is not on you don't no they are there , however once you lock in 4x4 you do have a heavy steering wheel But as far as onroad driving you won't notice at all

@@OUTBACKDiscovery does it not click on the road when turning in car park even though your in 2 wheel drive. My land cruiser one would click with hubs locked in but in 2 wheel drive still.

@@79series hey mate nah it doesn't click at all, you wouldn't no at all in 2wd , If you have manual or auto locking Hubs on your cruiser and they were engaged then it would be the same as your locking your wheel to your cv/diff

@@OUTBACKDiscovery yeah thats what i mean when the hubs were unlocked in 2wd it was sweet as the front diff center doesnt move , but the hubs locked is the same as your hilux front which is permanently locked. "Tyre to cv" , so yeah locked hubs it was noisy and clicky as. But having that locker is 100% better than a open center. Ive just bought a n70 sr5 and want to put another of these lockers in but had concerns as it doesnt have free wheeling hubs.

@@79series rogie, yeah I can't remember how the diff is actuated but the way it's done it doesn't effect the car at all in 2wd However is heavy on 4wd for steering as you would already no But man it makes the car so capable In my hilux I ran a truetrac rear locker in mine and it was so smooth on the road but so effective offroad
