Hey everyone :) Had a little bit of a 4 day break, but we are back now, hopefully with a bit more diversity :D On Monday, we take a look at Stonx! Also, apparently I've somehow manage to set body proportions in this video. So while they were very close, they weren't perfect and this could have been miles better than it already is. Which is crazy ♥️ Guess we are doing a full setup video when we build the DIY ones.

I will say, if you can handle a soldering iron, building a slime is really easy! They are only about three to four chips to wire together and the wiring itself is pretty minimal. They have the firmware as easy as plugging in a usb and using the online flasher! As for the cases to put your guts in, there’s a massive variety to chose from. I originally heat formed soda bottles and upgraded to 3D printed later! I’ve also seen decent cardboard cases around the discord as well. When you go the diy route these things really do offer you a massive amount of options.

Great video! Maybe use normal human avatars when trying to showcase FBT? Cause the standard avi's that come automatically with VRC aren't made with FBT in mind and look really janky

As someone looking into Fullbody tracking this is such a godsend - was also looking at the new StonX but SlimeVR is always sitting in the background thoughts. A video showing how to put some together would be amazing as I find your way of explaining things so easy to understand and I definitely think with the newest updates that building my own VR might just be the way to go. Yes! I got slime vr for under $200 USD and they work amazing. I use the trackers on a vive xr elite.

Not sure I like the way they clip into the floor all the time, but it could be because of Mysticle's imperfect body proportion settings. I hope they're not like that if and when I decide to build/buy them.

The Floor Clip option in the SlimeVR Server completely solves this issue, it indeed was TheMysticle’s proportion set up, or lack there of, that caused that :p

Yep I can confirm! It’s a option to check on the server. Once it’s on it’ll clear that right up! Been on the discord for a hot minute and built my own trackers. Its definitely an option I highly recommend to be turned on.

@@Pman_OG It will only work if the game supports it. So out of those, Blade and Sorcery is the only one that supports. Unless you mean standalone quest, which in that case only VRChat supports

Been waiting for my trackers since September 2021 it's frustrating but I understand the whole deal behind the chip shortage and with suppliers giving preference to the big boy companies, but they push back the date back like a week or 2 before the estimated shipping date or it seems that way. I might try the DIY route again maybe things are less complicated now but I do suck at soldering. :)

It's worth it. There likely won't be a cheaper option, it's near way impossible to reduce cost to build tracking. If you wanted them faster, you could buy adafruit bno085s, and then build your own diy slimes to get production quality.

4:55 the most comfortable avatar I've worn is an anthro bunny. Like every joint is 1:1 Tho, that Shiba you have, those are never comfy. Rexioums are okay, but Hyenids, Hyenids are super comfy IMHO. Some of those e-girl bases, like the Rindo, the chest and shoulders are WAY too high and it feels weird. I suppose, anything that looks like it was made for ERP, will probably wear better than things meant to just be cute.

It works especially with the Xbox one version (Kinect 2) but the delay and accuracy are pretty bad.

I don't think the issue is with anthro avi as much as it is THAT anthro avi. The Shiba model is not portioned or rigged people shaped. The rexoium ones or hyenid and other anthro(furry) ones are people shaped.

Noticed you're using a Quest Pro, how have you been liking the new VRC update that broke the Pro controllers? The update via Meta and VRChat that both released the same day made it so that when your controllers idle, or the cameras are occluded, your arms shoot down to your sides in a prone position. Making my Pro controllers useless. I had to go out and buy Knuckles to solve the issue.

DIY is Definitely cheap. I made my 1st set over a year ago, and the total cost came out to about $130 for 9 point tracking (feet, knees, hip, chest, VR headset, controllers) It's probably got the best software, once calibrated right, even the really bad IMU chips work very well and Slime currently blows Sony's Mocapi out of the water for accuracy.

I find it funny how I use 3 owo trackers and 3 Nintendo switch controllers for my FBT and my tracking seems smother than the official trackers. Yes it has more drift and often times It has connectivity issues, but slime trackers just have this jittery look to them that my tracking doesn't have. It could have something to do with how I calibrated my body proportions but I don't know.

Used my own phone as a tracker while trying to watch youtube videos on it to set it up and even with a single hip tracker and the quest 2 controller tracking failing more often than the hip tracking i already can't go back. Driving lessons be damned I'm getting the 5+1 pack instead of 2 months of being forced to not improve for no benefit.

StonX is definitely a good alternative. Has the advantage that it doesn't rely on your wifi - it has it's own included dongle - so no need to have router in same room as your playspace.

The tracking improvements you were trying to show *were not working* because you didn't recalibrate your body proportions properly. as such the results are a bit jank with feet mushing through the floor The actual accuracy is way higher

@@TheMysticle Yeah, absolutely is. I just think it's an unfortunate catch because slimes are genuinely at the point where it can look indistinguishable from vive trackers. Got a short vid on my channel showing that, but as always, slime is work in progress, and most reviewers are one bit of info away from getting there because rome wasn't built in a day and it's easy to miss the non-complete steps. Either way it's great to see some spotlights being turned on slime as it deserves, good stuff!
