CHEAP HEARING AIDS//DO THEY WORK?

Hi Denise, I think it is great if you can get along with a reasonable priced set of hearing aides. My Dad had a horrible time with his poor hearing. It was caused by very noisy employment and the results of the noise just wasn’t recognized or realized back in the past. We had a large family with 5 females who all spoke quite softly and the rest males who mostly had loud voices. When we all got together for any event my Dad was hooped for he just couldn’t understand anything that was being spoken. My Dad got good hearing aides supplied through Workers Comp. board. In large groups Dad still had a hard time hearing which really took a lot of joy out of his life, but a few people at a time was doable for him. He would have never made it with a cheaper pair of aides. I am not trying to put anything or anyone down here but his hearing was just that bad. If you can get away with a cheaper pair of aides that are mostly quite doable for you then I would certainly grab onto them. My Dad’s aides were very expensive but they still didn’t come free of problems. In fact there was still many of them, so in my opinion if you can deal with the cheaper aides then I would go that route as broken or lost aides is still a constant problem for the elderly and could end up being a very costly endeavor. I wish you a very stress free time with your hearing aides at a reasonable cost for your family. It truly does become a family affair as you age and are not able to maintain them effectively by yourself. Good luck Denise.

Thanks for watching. The girl friends came over the other day and I told them I'd give 'em ten bucks a visit if they spoke louder. They laughed and said o.k. Still cheaper than $5700.00!

hi Tammy. They aren't bad but Boise makes a hearing aid that is probably better but $1000.00. It's a tough choice to make.

Hey Denise… so glad you were able to find some “sahd” that are good enough to help you. Heaven has a little sister who ate some expensive ones!!! I think I would be more careful where I put my stuff, wouldn’t you?

yep. However, when Roxie was a puppy, she had a strange obsession with kleenex and toilet paper. One day, she hauled some kleenex from my side table and pulled out a plastic pill container at the same time. Luckily we discovered the container was empty but now, all that stuff is in a tin or box she can't get into.

Another informative (and sometimes humorous) video! Thanks Denise. My Mom was REALLY hard of hearing and ended up with some of those expensive devices. They did work for her ... and since they were the kind with the wires, they stayed on her ears with no problem. But boy, about 3 days was all she could go without replacing the batteries. I have trouble hearing my husband a lot of the time because he has a very soft and low voice ... but I ask myself ... is that such a bad thing? lol Right now my most immediate issue is cataract surgery. Have you been down that road yet? That will probably end up costing an arm and a leg. Glad those devices proved to be of service to you.

my ophthalmologist says if I decide I need new glasses save the thousand bucks and get cataract surgery. I told him I'm paranoid and claustrophobic and he said he would take care of me and Ativan will work a treat!

@@travelsinmychair4140 Yup, my eyes are at that stage too where glasses can only do so much. Like you, I'm hoping that there is some amount of "calming" meds provided to get me through the procedure, but I'm actually more curious about the surgery than apprehensive. I must have watched 50 videos about it so I'm feeling somewhat ready. It will be lovely to have nice crisp vision so my computer screen is 100% in focus.

happy sunday Denise. 🤍 success! I do agree with you I wouldn't have purchased them from the saleslady for $5k. people sold my mom and I similar things when she had cancer for swelling on her legs and it was a rip off.

I know. Widows living on social assistance or on pensions CAN NOT afford the devices they need to make their lives better. It's not fair but Walmart sells a brand called Audien that gets good reviews. So there are options.
