For cables, you could go to Blue Jeans cables. Audio grade, and affordable.

I’ve used Amazon Basics, Kabel Direct, and Worlds Best Cables. All get the job done. The WBC cables are well built and and probably where I’m going to top out in terms of cable spend.

World’s Best Cables directional RCA interconnects are especially good.

I wired my friends All Tube Dolby Atmos Rig with everything from old Monster Cables, Amazon Basics, and some homebrew Silver Plated Copper solid wire he cobbled together. Sounds pretty damned good to me. Nice to see your channel take off so quickly. Just subscribed !

I just got a pair of Edifier R1280T speakers. Black Friday deal for $84.00!! At Amazon, of course. I'm not hyper critical of speakers now, as my ears are blown from 50 years of playing hard rock in bars, and 20 years of shooting sports. Great video!

Thanks! And congrats on still being able to hear!

I just used silicone grease for rubber to rejuvenate the rubber surrounds of an older speaker and I swear I heard an improvement in its midbass/Bass performance. Also power strips with EMI filters.

That’s awesome!

Why do we try to appease others by what we buy? There is no audiophile council that dictates what we buy. Andrew Robinson says it best. "The only person who have to like their system is YOU".

For speaker cable there is a distributor out of Montreal with my favorite being the Mogami 3104 12 gauge 4 conductor. The stuff is awesome around $8 a foot. Or the 2 conductor version 3103 for half the price. Worth checking out.

You should try professional brand cables like Belden and Mogami - rather affordable and sounds great.

Sewell for well made, not too expensive connectors my man. Spade, banana, and even that weird limp noodle wire thing, reliable and simple. I use microfiber clothes and some high purity isopropyl alcohol to dust. I have to do it every couple of days with some piano gloss black items.

Good on you! Basics cables are plenty good enough and they get the job done. One point about speaker wire ... use an all copper wire (CU) ... do not use copper clad aluminium (CCA) wire. CCA wire is just a nightmare to work with. If you are getting hum from your sub-woofer, consider a "ground lift" adaptor for its power cord. These things are pretty cheap, like $2.95 cheap ... 3 pin socket... 2 pin plug. Generally sold as adaptors for older outlets. No, the more expensive cables are not better and any sensible testing will demonstrate that very easily.

The audiophile cables that you mention are actually considered to be low end, barely entry level cables. For real high cable, you're talking about 5k-20k. That's right. $20,000 for some wack-job interconnect or speaker cable. A reviewer tested some, and concluded with the following. "No audible difference. You're better off giving your money to a hooker. At least you'll get something for your money, such as an STD". Yep. Rock on.

I'd argue the average prostitute is a much better business partner than those scammy cable companies. At least you're doing an honest transaction and get what you pay for.

dust...too much electrical charge in your place due to being too dry perhaps...get a humidifier and set it up in an adjacent room to your listening room

1990 called. If you can see through speaker cable , it's going to degrade eventually.

What does the year 1990 have to do with translucent speaker cabling? Specifically.

I wonder if there's such a think as buying speakers cables and RCA, leads that sound less bright.
@ropeburn66842 күн бұрын
Cables would need to be exceptionally bad to have any effect like that, including "sounding less bright". Any cable meeting an absolute minimum electrical standard has a perfectly flat frequency response in the audible band, and way above it too. If you want to change your sound, do it using EQ at source and/or preamp level, and forget about doing it with cables, because that's nonsense.
@alanjipy552 күн бұрын
@@ropeburn6684 I find some recordings bright. I recently pruchased some Van Damme 4mm hifi speaker cable. wasn't sure if i should the same in RCA leads.

@@ropeburn6684 I wouldn't say it's a problem, some recordings are on the bright side and my speakers are a little bright.. I dont have the perfect room also, thought i would try a thicker rug to replace the one i have.

I'm sorry pal. If you don't spend 1000 bucks on RCA cables I can never talk to you again. LOL I think about 8 gauge speaker wire. It's connecting 18 gauge wire in your amp to 28 gauge wire in your speakers. Like connecting two country roads with an eight lane highway!

You are ok with the cables. No cable has any sound. There are no additional benefits. People tell you they do, bc after pay8 g stupid money, they need to justify their purchase. All test of expensive cables against the cheap equivalent lend no improvements.
@QuoPaperPlane2 күн бұрын
Many will tell you to spend as much as possible on cables. Many will tell you to get up early and spot the pixies at the bottom of the garden. Why these fools believe the marketing hype leave a lot to be desired.
