i like Cha-Am, it's so laid back, you did well with the upgrade Peter, went from a dump (look at the back of the room door!!) to a desirable room for less than 300TB, i'm off to L.O.S. in 14 days and nipping down to Phatthalung close to the southern border for a few days, looking forward to it

We stayed at the Raya Resort, great place to stay, right on the beach and wonderful large well kept grounds. Free bicycles to ride around, loved it. We were a couple, so the 2,000baht a night was worth it, with a very decent free breakfast 😊

Mostly the negative comment are men with low self esteme and no money. Thailand is a paradise but only if your cashed up. NoThai girl will ever go with a homeless🎉farang . Simple maths

I really love cha am it has everything you need and it has a nice relaxed feel about it and a lovely expat community they have fishing trips on Wednesday it’s a nice place to retire not much to do but you can catch a bus to hoi hin and catch a train to Bangkok

Enjoyed your scooter ride down the beach road -- and the sunset/sunrisee (?) outro shot was quite beautifully framed. Thought that was a sunset, but from Cha Am, you'd be looking over the gulf to the east - a sunrise. Unless that was shot on the other side, Pattaya. Nice video.

We just stayed in a couple of hotels in Phuket last week (Timeshare resorts) and they had a laundry service which I thought was good until I saw the prices. 50Baht for a pair of undies or socks and prices went up from there. For me that is about $2.25AUD. Not a bargain in anyones money. But I did see laundry services in Patong for 50 baht per kilo or something like that. So a full laundry bag could cost you 200 to 300 baht. Depending on how much clothes you need done. Much more reasonable.

Sounds like a rip-off most laundry charge you buy the kilo but hotels tend to charge for individual items

crazy prices, laundry service are everywhere , i don't pay kilo price (that's usually wash only, i prefer wash and iron) and usually pay around 175-200TB for a weeks worth of washing! hope you enjoyed your holiday🙂

There used to be a ferry service that crossed the gulf but it closed down during covid I've heard rumours that it might open again but at the moment I think it's still closed so the only way to get the area is to drive around the gulf
