$250/month is a bit high for HOA, that's 3 grand a year! How much land could you buy for the same price or less, land you could park your vehicle or RV on for an extended period of time. That would be a great home base. Of course this home is in a community and that might be worth something to have neighbors that you get to know. But 3 grand a year for HOA plus 1500 per year for taxes, that's 4 1/2 grand per year.

In my area corporate owners are taking the land over. You're seeing fees of $700+/month.

How much land? Inside house? Any oit buildings? What does the HOA do besides collect $ every month (do they mow, collect trash, etc)? NOT ENOUGH information about who/where to get more info..... you're just way to vague. BUYERS BEWARE... IT'S PROBABLY TOO OLD to buy insurance on too.
