Cheap LED Lights For Bike - Motorcycle LED Spotlights Installation - Royal Enfield Himalayan

Today I install cheap LED lights I bought for my bike. In this video I show LED motorcycle spotlights installation on my Royal Enfield Himalayan. In this step by step guide I show how to install spotlights I bought on AliExpress for my motorbike. Although these lights are inexpensive they are fully adjustable and they seem to be very sturdy appearing to be copies of BMW Motorrad LED lights with a much lower price tag. I talk through the different mounting options for spotlights on the Himalayan Motorcycle. Are these led spot lights or led fog lights? I can never tell tell the difference.

brill vid 👍😁 I changed the standard headlight 8 months ago for an LED unit on my Himmy (Ebay £23) supposed to last 50,000 hrs but if it does die while touring, no buying a new Bulb for me 🤔 so i really need to fit some of these asap even just for back up 🤣

Aye its no a bad idea to have a bit of backup David there's alot of options for led lights that don't cost a fortune 👍

I was coming back from the Avon Valley club in Strathaven to East Kilbride one We’d night about 10pm. It was a murky night and pitch black. I had just gone through Chapleton when the light on my XL250 motosport popped. The immediate shock of being plunged into darkness (just the meter lights on) was but clenching. Fortunately within a few seconds I remembered I had a dip beam to, but no, it didn’t work either. Fortunately the pilot lamp was still on so I could just about see my mudguard (the 6V headlight wasn’t very good anyway, it was kind of yellow, and the beam seemed to fall onto the road about 10feet in front of the bike. If you lifted it higher it disappeared into the darkness and lit up nothing). I pressed on at about 25mph and after 5 minutes my eyes started to get accustomed to it. There weren’t many car that came towards me but those that did were flashing their lights at me as if I had inadvertently left them off and hadn’t noticed!!!!! I did get home safely, but it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

Aye Jack sounds like a nightmare lol. That's another reason for the lights I still get the odd car flashing me from a distance thinking I'm a car with a headlight out of course by then ur dazzled. The triangle shape with the spots makes it clear what you are and another reason I prefer the lights on the engine guards helps to light the frame of the bike and makes you more visible.

I'm sure you'll get as good use out your spotlights as as someone with the expensive ones. Fair chance they both come from the same factory. Always carry a spare for every bulb on the bike. Ride a lot in Europe and some countries have a legal requirement to do this. Little boxed kits of multi bulbs are in Aldi/Lidl every now and again,reasonably priced. All this electrickery on your bike,I can remember you mentioning your previous career,did you service the electric chair?. "The fuse never blew when Martin done it"!.

Haha naw never flipped the switch on anybody mate. Aye av often got spare bulbs and whatnot but you never know. Only time it happened to me was in se Asia jungle track and no moon is not where you need it to happen lol 👍

I'd imagine a moonless Loch Sween would be just as dark as the jungle. Only bitey animal you'd need to worry about is your wee dog,if you stepped on its tail in the dark.

I've had headlamp bulbs blow, but I've never been left in the complete darkness, because it has only been one of the two filaments which has blown, either dip or main beam - never both. BTW, I've found that Smidge is the only stuff that really works for me.

I still can't see the purpose of the top front mudguard on the Himalayan so that went in the bin and now I can strap my sleeping bag on the proper front mudguard when touring. Enjoy your videos and cheers from Down Under.

have you ever done any hard enduro/dirt biking with the himalayan? We checked out all of the Royal Enfields in New Orleans and my girlfriend loved them all. I am getting her into biking. She has a Honda Navi and a Yamaha XT250 but I think she will outgrow the Yamaha pretty quickly. She wants to dirt bike with me in time but I have heard the Himalayan isnt "great" at real off roading because of the lack of clearance. What do you think? I like their whole line up but have never ridden one. I am spoiled on my BMW it has heaps of clearance. I have yet to swamp it in deep water lol. I would love to add a Royal Enfield to my collection Edit: My Aunt Betty just came over to my place a few minutes ago lol

Do you know if these are legal in the EU? They would need some kind of certificate (E Number, I guess). When I looked for my Himalayan this was a problem, so I got me some GIVI lamps. Nice vid 👍 enjoying your insights on working in these bike 👍

Great question there is a ce label with them but tbh coming from China I'm not 100% I trust it. That's the main reason I didnt want strobes, flashing or any kind of ring lighting to hedge my bets. I'm a givi fan can't go wrong with them 👍

Yer lens protection is advisable,I suppose you know that if you double switch in succession it it gives you strobe effect,I’ve already gone through two which died on me but as you say cheap cheap and easy and cheap to replace,waterproof on them are inconsistent,have a light time💥💥💥
