I have the Miller tec lithium battery it has the Bluetooth app. You can see how much of a charge you have so you know when it is low and needs charged

I tested a GoldenMate battery with a similar app and love that! I wish more batteries offered it.

Buddy I feel your pain. I ran out of juice once I have the 100ah to run the trolling motor a 30ah for fish finder and lights and a 50ah just in case.They were cheaper the the big brands at half the price and still weight less the a acid cell. And all you see is 1 in a smart box and no wires any where. 2 are low profile and stached away. Don't know if I'm ever gonna need the 50ah. You can fish evrryday for a week and still have juice. Thanks

Oh yeah, it’s one of those things you might never need but when/if you need it, you're gonna regret not having it!

Try the Li Time Mini..... 12v 100amp.... I cant speak for anyone else, but mine is amazingly powerful and deep celled. have larger fishing kayak, kaku zulu, minn koda ix3, have two battery guages mounted to check my power from time to time. have gone as far as 8 miles over a day of fishing at normal speeds, stops and starts, and have yet to come home at less than 80% battery power left. very small, i think it weighs like 17-19# Give it a try on your channel, I think you will like it as I do. JMO im new to your channel, but, enjoying what I see so far. not sure if you have done a video on it or not, but videos on different typed of kayak T rail rod holder bottoms and one on rod holders them selves would be a good one. especially if used as a bait rod holder for catching cat fish or bottom feeding type fish. Thanks for what your doing to help educate us fellow fisherman

Thanks for the recommendation! It came out shortly after I ordered this battery but I think you’re right it would definitely be the better option for kayak anglers since it’s smaller but still powerful enough to last multiple days

Can I use a 12.8v to my 12v trolling motor? Is going to be safe?
@YBGAnglers2 ай бұрын
Yes, it is safe to use. I still recommend using a fuse or 50A/60A breaker to help protect your trolling motor from surges.

With the high end battery you might get actual customer service if you have a problem.
@YBGAnglersАй бұрын
Some of them yes… but I know a few guys who bought some of the high-end batteries and the customer service was non-existent despite having a long warranty.
@ilovevag8437Ай бұрын
If you need customer service for a battery this cheap you need more help than the batter. Just buy another one. Go buy a battleborn. Leve these to us regular folk.

People that have been using lithium from thre beginning tell you that in order to maintain the 5 years you should top off the battery after each use and that if plan on storage of three months or more to top it off monthly just saying

I’ve got the same battery picked it up used for $100 I’ve been impressed with it so far especially coming from lead acid it’s been great. I’ve also got the xi3 I’d definitely swap your trolling motor plug to the marinco 70amp plug. It’s really heavy duty and way better connection. Your rear plug going to your battery should be fine but I went with Anderson plugs at the battery for reassurance. Probably $50 in upgrades in plugs and take about 20 minutes to swap out but we’ll worth the peace of mind.

I got the 200 Ah for my bigger 12 ft yak, had the Litime battery less than 10 months it died, I like it at first for the price and weight but I never knew other people had experience with it dying. I ended up sending it back to them since it has 5 year warranty but I will never buy it again, you get what you pay for and it caused a lot of headaches. My blue top AGM batteries I replaced had over 3 years had no issues, glad I can still use them as back up. I wish I knew more about the failures of these batteries before I bought them. It is similar to the Creality 3D printer I bought that I ended up spending more money to upgrade plus all the headaches that came with it when I could have spent another 300 hundred dollars and got a better printer that did not fail so much. Both of these are Chinese companies and the product is made there. I would rather pay more now than have to deal with the frustrations of going budget, my advice to any future buyers.

Thanks for the input! I hate to hear that! So far the battery has lasted for me but that was a risk I thought about since they are so much cheaper…
@ericklein50973 ай бұрын
99% of lithium batteries come from China. Very very few batteries actually made in N America or Europe. There’s only two components in a lithium battery like this -prismatic cells (I think your 200Ah has 8 3.2V 100Ah cells in a 4S2P) -A BMS which is just a PCB that uses mosfets to switch the charge/discharge current off if there’s a problem and some resistors that drain energy from the high cells when near the top of the charge to let lower cells catch up (unless the cells are perfectly matched which isn’t going to happen unless you pay top dollar for REAL Grade A EV cells that someone has tested capacity/IR and then matched them up) 99.9% of the time it’s going to be a wiring issue or a BMS issue. You can replace a BMS for about $40 and the wiring would be mostly plug and play unless the main negative lead is soldered to the BMS instead of secured by a bolt through the ring terminal/lug LiTime/Redodo/PowerQueen (all the same company) are known as pretty much the #1 budget brand so if I had to guess I’d say you had a wiring problem. It’s a shame they make you destroy the enclosure to get the lid off

Question! Did you notice your trolling motor getting hot when running at full speed? My son thinks this battery killed his motor? Thanks
@YBGAnglers5 ай бұрын
I didn’t but I also wasn’t feeling it… I use a remote to control it and I installed a circuit breaker to prevent surges!
@JamesWhite-tg4kw5 ай бұрын
You definitely want the right wire size and a fuse or circuit breaker to protect your trolling motor 👍

A lithium-ion battery charger. There are some on the market that allow you to change charging modes for different types of batteries, just ensure that it's made for lithium-ion batteries!

How did you charge it. I've read to keep them partially charged for storage and fully charge them to use them. And with a lithium charger. I haven't bought one yet I'm looking into getting 2 for my 24 V trolling motor. Thanks for all your help
@Etec864 ай бұрын
bummer. I have a pair of the 12v 100ah Amperetime (before they rebranded) batteries. They are still going strong after two years of hard use. Fished 11 hours for trout in heavy current yesterday and they were still going strong at the end.
@JamesWhite-tg4kw4 ай бұрын
@@Etec86 Do you have them in series to make 24 V or parallel to have more 12 V storage. I'm wondering about how I need to charge both of my batteries that make 24 V. whether to use just a 24V charger or a 2 bank 12 V charger
