AI summary with timestamps: This video is about tips on how to find cheap plane tickets and how to choose airplane seats for long journeys in Southeast Asia. The speaker, who lives in Cambodia, shares his experience and knowledge accumulated over the past eight or nine years of traveling in the region. The video starts with the speaker mentioning that he has been getting questions about how to find cheap plane tickets. He then goes into details on his strategies which include: Checking third-party booking websites every morning for price drops and sign up for email alerts [1:00] Booking tickets directly from the airline websites for better customer service and sometimes cheaper prices or extra perks [1:30] Considering package deals versus individual tickets, mentioning the pros and cons of each [2:00] Looking out for layovers, baggage issues, and total travel time [2:30] Here are some additional tips the speaker mentioned: He recommends starting searching for flights 3 months in advance [3:00] Be aware that some airlines might have weight restrictions on checked baggage, especially for connecting flights on smaller airplanes. Upgrading the baggage allowance beforehand is recommended [3:30] Pack according to the weather and activities you will be doing. Locals tend to wear long sleeves and pants despite the hot weather [4:00] Bring one set of nice clothes in case you are invited to a fancy event [4:30] The speaker also shared his preference for airplane seats. He likes to choose the last row by the window on the plane because it is quieter and increases the chances of getting the entire row to himself, especially before Covid [5:00]

To sum up: Check prices for flights early, check often. If you find a good deal, buy it. Avoid long layovers. Checked luggage is a hassle. Better to just take less if you can. Sit in the back and relax.

Hi Kelly. I find that wearing thin summer weight material, one size too big….allows air circulation between skin, and clothing. Sort of like Arab robes that are loose and airy. My shirts are Columbia button up long sleeve summer shirts…I roll the sleeves up if I want, leave them untucked….at least one size too large for me. Same with my pants…long pants…thin summer weight material.. zip off legs if I want. Zipper front pockets for more security for wallet, and Velcro cargo pockets. Zipper back pockets also. You can get a good seamstress to install zippers if you can’t find pants like that. In south east Asia…I go barefoot in Teva Holliway men’s sandals, with heavy duty soles, arch support, and heal strap with buckle fastening. Flip flops are bad for your feet and legs and lower back over time. I’m one of those who pack carry on only. I never check any bags. Even going for months at a time. 21 litre Minaal Daily 3.0 convertible backpack, and a crossbody/Fanny pack sling. No worrying who is handling my bag, no worry about it getting on the wrong plane, no paying extra fees, no waiting at carousels. Just pick up and go. Thank you for your videos…. Namo Buddhaya 🙏🏼 ☸️ 🌴 🌴 🌴 🇹🇭 🇰🇭 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 👍🏼 👏🏼 ✈️😃

When was the first time you were in Siem Reap. Why did you pick Cambodia?
@AutumninAsia6 ай бұрын
2016 was my first time in Siem Reap. I was going to retire in Thailand (I miss the Islands) but I came to realize that the immigration system was something that I didn't want to deal with. Cambodia's immigration is very much simpler and has no 90-day reporting.
