I agree. And Cambodia beef is very tough. It's only good for soups and stews. However, if you get to the market early, you can buy the back straps and they are better. Thank you for watching the videos 🤗

Very interesting! Good info. What is a rough estimate on prices for some of those bikes, new or used?. Is insurance coverage mandatory and how's the cost of insurance? Probably not unaffordable as in US.
@AutumninAsia

About insurance, I heard that they are going to require insurance next year. It will probably be assessed by the cost of the moto. My moto cost me $1550. It was 3 years old and had 36k I'm. New world cost about $2400. The others I really don't know. My insurance is @$120 yr. Hope that helps 🤗

Many years ago in Lima, I found that street vendors would make me sick about half of the time. But the more I experimented, the more I found that it depended on the food. Cooked? Probably gonna be okay. Salad? It depends. I'm in Ecuador as we speak and find that street vendors are safe. I look forward to exploring Cambodia. Thanks for sharing.

Old Expat on Luzon Island, Philippines. Almost thirteen (13) and counting. My experience closely mirrors yours. Before I had obtained my 13A permanent resident visa, Beautiful Bride and I made a few visa runs. I have always been of the opinion, if you are going, stay a while and enjoy the location, culture, people and all the country has to offer. Cambodia is a favourite. Warm people, plenty of history, great food. The wonderful place my wife picked out to stay never felt like a hotel. It was as if we were the guests of a well off family, staying at one of the awesome rooms surrounding the pool. The staff offered some of the best treatment we have ever experienced.

Hey looks like you living the life. Hope to meet some expats when I visit there in 2 weeks time. Will be my first time to Cambodia so feeling excited but also anxious & a little nervous maybe because like you said in your intro it is very different lifestyle & culture to what to I'm used too also I've travelled alot but never experienced a country like this yet. So I want to mention a few weeks & maybe you can offer me some tips or advice I welcome it. Regarding the woman serving drinks which I was impressed with I noticed she was using ice. Should I be concerned about this having ice in my drinks? Next of course I will embrace & respect their culture I just have a problem with motorcyclists not their driving but it seems more than half of them do not wear a helmet & that is crazy & irresponsible still I suppose I have to accept that. Regarding petty crime & from what I've researched theft seems to be big there. Obviously I will use commonsense however should I be worried? And lastly my main concern is the currency. I have so many questions. Should I take both usd & riel with me? I'm worried that usd may be rejected because of the way it looks. I'm also concerned about recieving change in both currencies which will prove to be a headache to work out if I recieve the correct change. Also I'm aware fake money is around & my end up in my pocket. I also learned that riel cannot be changed once I leave Cambodia which I think is madness still I don't want to end up with too much of it. Can it be changed if I'm in Cambodia. Appreciate your response to my comments & concerns. Great video friend. Thanks Gary
@AutumninAsia
@AutumninAsia 4 күн бұрын
Hello Gary. I can understand your concerns. Don't worry. To answering your questions, I will. Ok, Ready? No, no, maybe, yes and I don't know. Hope that helps !!! Nawww, just joking. Ok. Don't worry about the ice. Think about it. They want to make money and if they get the rep of making people sick, word will get around and they won't be in business long. Helmets, yes it drives me crazy and all I have to say is that me and mine always wear helmets. You can't change it so don't even try. Theft is in every country, especially in the tourist areas. Many things you can do to avoid it and that would be a whole video to cover it. Bottom line on that is when you go out, take just what you need, and as the saying goes, only as much as you can afford to lose. Keep your wallet in your front pocket. Credit card in the other. Other than in the Tourist areas, it is very safe and actually most of the violent assaults are foreigners vs. foreigners in the bars !! If you have a CC that refunds your ATM fees, like Charles Schwab, just use your card and at the ATM get your money out in Riel. Fake $100 are all around. That is why you deal only in Riel. It's easy to calculate how much something costs by dividing by 4. 10,000 Riel / 4= $2.50 And if you have Riel left over when you leave, you can change it back at the airport. Hope that helps. DM me when you get into town. Have a great day !!!

I keep seeing negative comments on line concerning health care, hospitals, clinics. What's the deal with health care in Cambodia?
@AutumninAsia
@AutumninAsia 4 күн бұрын
I did a video about that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3mVfKRsodqZi5o Briefly, you have to compare apples with apples. Sure, the hospitals here can do many things quite cheap. Some things like open heart surgery they can not. you would have to go to Bangkok for things like that. The video I listed goes a bit more into the subject. Too much info to do in a text. I hope the video will help. Thank you and have a great day !!!!

Curious, how do you bank in Cambodia? Their infrastructure is not that great. Did you have to setup a bank in Cambodia and fly back to U.S. to setup the banking situation? Would love to live in Southeast Asia but I am hesitant when it comes to banking. I heard stories where people had gotten locked out of their accounts because they were using their cards internationally and had to fly back to U.S. to prove their identity at a branch location.
@AutumninAsia

It is easier than that. I have a Charles Schwab acct. that refunds my ATM fees monthly. I go to the ATM and take money out of that acct. and move over to the deposit ATMs and deposit it into my ABA acct. I get my money into the ABA acct. in about 1 minute. As far as US bank closing your acct. You just let them know in your banking app. tghat you will be out of the country and don't worry about charges from Cambodia. Talk to the US bank if you need help with that. Charles Schwab was informed that I will be in Cambodia and I have had no problems with them blocking my acct. It has been 2 1/2 years like that. This video has a section in it that talks about it with links to more info. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a16WZ42vYpmqf9U I hope that helps. Be sure to do your own due diligence though. Have a great day !!!!
